If you really liked the original, I think you'll like this one, too. Yes, this is a live track, and thus doesn't have the polished sound of a studio track. I read the other reviews and wouldn't have written this one if it weren't for the fact that I so disagree with the couple of negative reviews I read. The vocals are more of the live variety, but the keyboards (one of the things I always loved about OMD) sound great.
Then I listened to it. Ugh. Maybe they just picked the worst 30 seconds to clip. I was so excited when I saw this song for free.
They don't have it in them. Good song when first released. Bad recording, makes you want to listen to the original and forget you ever heard this mess.
I downloaded this as a freebie, but was unhappy with the performance. Go for the original song, if you can. I guess if you're at the concert, that being there rounds out or compensates for what the band sounds like outside of the studio and without production.
I would want to play frequently. I have already heard this song so many times on the radio that it does not excite me anymore. This is a pretty nice remake, easy listening, but nothing.
