iPod, Radio, or Buzzer Alarm
Wake to your docked iPod, the radio, or--if you must--a classic buzzer alarm. Whichever you choose, a gradual alarm feature gently raises the alarm volume, so it's not too jarring. Dual alarm lets you set separate wake times. The 7-5-2 alarm setting means you can set separate wake times, either for every day or separate weekday/weekend times. You also can wake to the playlist or song of your choice. The alarm also boasts a number of features to ensure you get up in the morning. Battery backup means you'll still get up in the event of a power failure, and Alarm Reset turns off the alarm and automatically resets it for the same time the following day. If you select to wake to iPod but no iPod is docked, you're still covered--the iH9 will sound the buzzer instead. Sleep Features
In designing the iH9, iHome paid special attention to the other end of the alarm clock equation--going to bed. Sleep to iPod or radio, with programmable sleep times of 120, 90, 60, 30, or 15 minutes. Gentle Sleep gradually decreases the music volume as you drift off to dreamland. What's more, an Adjustable Sleep volume solves an old alarm clock problem, allowing you to select a comfortable "sleep" volume level without affecting the "wake to" or listening volume levels. Everyone should definitely buy this one because its so easy to use and it charges your ipod!!! <3 it! I dont even mind that it cost almost $100...totally worth it
For the price, size, sound and dual alarms, it's a good product. I like the dual alarms and it's easy to use. The only thing is, when I press the remote on my tv, the alarm turns on and off. As long as I remember to make sure it's set before I go to sleep, I'm OK with that. I wonder why it does that? All-in all a good little unit.
I've bought this item (black one) couple of days ago in TJ Maxx for 69,99 + sales tax. There are more iH9xxx models, so don't be pissed if you buy the one without remote (plain iH9). I didn't need remote so desperately, so I'm satisfied with this model. Using it with iPod Video, had no problem connecting it, although I didn't like US centricism in Time Zones settings (doesn't offer outside-US time zones). Clock can be set manualy, so this is not such a big issue for me. Let's list pros and cons (IMHO):
pros
* great loudness for such a small box, and also the distribution of tones is well balanced
* sounds great on the silent end, which I'll use more often
* quite easy to set up and use
* display can be dimmed thgrough more levels then I'll ever need
* has audio line-in
cons
* not as easy to handle (memorize and tune) radio stations
* if you want to skip to next song, you have to do it by pressing on iPod, rather then having the control on the station itself
All together, this is a good product for what I needed, but I don't think it's worth 90 $. Trj some local stores for better price.
the iHome that I purchased as a Christmas gift did not work when opened. Not all of the numbers were displaying so you couldn't tell the time. I contacted VCT Technologies to explain how the iHome is not working and I would like to exchange it. Thru days of trying to contact them, they said that it was purchased more than 30 days ago and that they couldn't help me. I could however return it for additional fee; which I had already spent $90.00 for something that doesn't work!
I will never ever purchase anything from this vendor and recommend that you do not either. Their customer service is deplorable and their products do not work.
I recieved this because I actaully ordered a different type/style and the company ran out of stock so they gave me this "upgraded" one instead. I really like it. I wanted a system that had 2 alarm clocks (one for me, one for the wife) but with the ability to play and charge my ipod touch. I like to listen to music on low while I fall asleep so I turn on the "Sleep" button for 60 minutes, hit my ipod to shuffle and drift asleep with good music without radio adds and DJ talk. I'm very happy with this unit. One side note: the display can be very bright, but hitting the snooze dims it to satisfactory levels...even completly off. Not a problem in my book.
