The sound is great, impressive for the speaker size. Some people have said that dimmed to the lowest level is too bright and I can understand why they might say that, but I personally don't find it bothersome and I have returned other alarm clocks for being too bright at night. I love that you can hit snooze or even turn the alarm off right from bed with the remote. I definitely recommend this product. I love the dimmer feature that allows you to set the level of brightness.
Clock/Radio display does not read clearly after warranty was expired. I regret buying this one. Digital bars making up the numbers are not solid, some clear, some faded, some dark.

Has an EQ button to set treble, bass, 3D, balance. I like being able to change the brightness. Two separate alarm buttons, with a snooze bar. Works really well with my iPod Classic 160gb. Sounds good, can set 6 FM stations, 6 AM stations; also has Line In and Line Out.
I have not found any other unit that is as adjustable. My need was for a clock radio in my bedroom where I could dock my ipod and wake to music I selected on the ipod. **Waking to beautiful music in Sacramento I bought and returned two other similar products, before I finally bought this ihome. This has great sound, charges the ipod, and controls are simple to understand for this over 50 non electronic minded lady. Other products I bought also had good sound quality, but the feature that sells this unit is the 8 different levels of brightness on the clock radio.
They were all way too bright and were like having a Las Vegas night light in your room. The other units I bought and returned did not have brightness control sufficient to my needs. On this ihome you can reduce the brightness all the way off if need. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this product if the adjustment in the brightness of the light display is also your paramount need.
