Mama is getting one for certain. Telemarkerters have learned to bypass this system by attaching bogus personal and company names to their numbers. We have a "Person-To-Person" Household Telephone Management System which blocks out all UNKN callers, UNKN names and numbers with no names. I like it much better than the Info Globe which I've been using for 3 years - and the Info Globe is a far more delicate and fragile instrument than the Bright ID'er. The display lights up on the first ring and I can see who is calling from the other side of the workshop. Even as such, it is, to me, worth the extra shipping cost.
My only negative is that the Bright ID'er is not offered on Amazon Prime. These make wonderful gifts for the elderly members in our families. Reviewing the call log is as simple as it gets. My wife wants one upstairs. Mount it on a shelf with adhesive Velcro and you'll be fine even with a few cats running around knocking other items over.
Our phone does not even ring. The Bright ID'er is great. It is well constructed, better than some Caller IDs I've used in the past. Now, with the Bright ID'er, I can simply ignore their calls from afar and block any future attempts to invade my home.
BECAUSE MY GRANDMOTHER WAS SO HAPPY WITH THE "BRIGHT IDer" I DECIDED TO ADD ANOTHER CALLER ID BOX TO COMPLIMENT IT, WHICH WAS THE CLASS-CO 9900 CW VOICE ANNOUNCE. THIS CALLER ID BOX IS NOT ADVERTISED AS BEING COMPATIBLE WITH CALL WAITING, (WHICH MEANS THAT IF YOUR EXPRESSLY LOOKING FOR A CALL WAITING CALLER ID) THIS IS NOT THE CALLER ID BOX FOR YOU. LIKE MOST ELECTRONICS, YOU CANNOT BE ROUGH WITH THIS BOX, OTHERWISE IT WILL MOST LIKELY NOT LAST A YEAR. HOWEVER, ALREADY KNOWING THE FEATURES OF THIS CALLER ID BOX BEFORE I BOUGHT IT, MADE ME REALLY APPRECIATE IT WHEN I SET IT UP FOR MY GRANDMOTHER. NOW, MY GRANDMOTHER HAS THE BENEFITS OF THE BRIGHT IDer & CLASS-CO VOICE ANNOUNCE FOR CALL WAITING CALLER ID. I PURCHASED THIS LARGE (L E D) CALLER IDENTIFICATION BOX FOR MY GRANDMOTHER, WHO RECENTLY ADDED CALL WAITING/ CALLER ID SERVICE.
We 1st bought one for my elderly mother as a Christmas present, and then it was drowned in the flood waters of Katrina. IT'S WONDERFULI WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT ONE. After she relocated to her own condo on the 26th floor in Chicago (where it will hopefully never flood), we got her another one so she could just look across the room and see who was calling before she answered the phone. LOVE THIS CALLER ID. I was so impressed with it, I bought one for myself, so that while I was working on the computer or watching TV, I could just glance over at it and quickly decide whether I wanted to answer the phone or not.
Sure it's a little more pricey then a regular ID'er, but to be able to see it from across the room, makes it worth it's weight in GOLD. With my recent purchase of the Bright ID'er I can now see who is calling and weather or not I want to answer it.
I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE UNITS A YEAR AGO, ITS VERY NICE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT IT DOES NOT OFFER CALL WAITING CALLER ID, AND IT BROKE AFTER A YEAR OF USE. I DO NOT RECCOMEND IT
