IOGEAR Enhanced Data Rate Bluetooth USB Adapter (GBU221) Reviews

This product feels well built at first but does not have a cap and after rattling around in my pocket for 3 weeks the USB connection seems to be getting a little loose from the external case (it still is firmly attached to the internal parts). This was the second bluetooth adapter I have purchased, the first turned out to be junk. It still works great though, it has great range and has not let me down yet, I highly recommend this for it's durability(my pocket is not very nice to USB jump drives either).

Eventually, I uninstalled their drivers and it worked fine with plug and play. I had such problems that in the end I had to reinstall Office from scratch, which was a huge pain. Otherwise, a great buy and much cheaper than buying stuff from Apple. This product works fine, but beware of the drivers on their CD if you're using Vista.

No problems here, it does what it's supposed to do. Overall a good buy. I'm only using it to connect a Bluetooth headset; pairing was pretty easy, and it connects without too much trouble.

I haven't yet given it another shot in Windows but I can recommend this item for Ubuntu with Gnome. When I tried it in XP, plug and play kept interrupting my installation and I finally gave up. After I tried it on my linux machine, it started working with no special attention.

I had a bluetooth headset for my phone and wanted to use it with Skype - I just plugged in the adapter, and away I went. There was a little confusion with the drivers (should have read the instructions first) but otherwise it works just great - easy, compact, and a great range.
