I chose to reformat with Leopard just to ensure that any file system changes under Leopard were taken into account, and the reformatting process took all of 30 seconds, no problems. It comes pre-formatted for OS X, so you can just plug it in and go (OS X recognizes it immediately after plugging it in via USB). I purchased it to create full backups of my iMac (OS X 10.5.5) that I can store in my safe deposit box, and I haven't been disappointed. It is physically small (about the size of a small pocket hooch flask), is well constructed and feels very solid and durable in your hand, and is dead quiet when operating. I am thrilled with this purchase and with Iomega's excellent support for Macs and I'll be back for more. It provided great performance with about 260GB being backed up over USB in about 4 hours and, in the event of an emergency, allows you to boot your iMac directly off the drive (using Firewire). This is an awesome little drive.

Performance is great, It is built well, although obviously all drives need to be handled with care. This drive is solid. that thing was beyond indestructible. I've taken a liking to this drive, I've liked Iomega products since my 100MB parallel-port zip drive.
I literally removed all my files from my 80Gig hard drive in my PC and now are carrying them with me. This external hard drive is excellent; I can copy material from home and transfer the material/pictures to my PC at work. Great product just plug n play. It works great I had a stick drive 2gIG it just got me mad because of never enough room. And it looks cool when you get it out at someones house to show your pictures.
I've had no problems connecting it to any of my PC's. It's nice and small so I can throw it into the laptop bag or a coat pocket. I was looking for a portable drive that had a bit more character to it than a lump of metal. And this was it. And its rather nice looking. Technically it's very straightforward and works very well.
