So far thise hasn't created any problems for me, since it doesn't come apart on its own. This is a pretty good case, however, it doesn't really "latch" very well. However, the lanyard has come apart on my twice and I had to use a vice to "re-pinch" the neckband back together. All in all, a bit cheap, but definately worth the money.
I use the lanyard with the iPod screen facing my chest so I can read it by tilting the bottom of my Nano inward and upward. I wanted a cheap ($6 with shipping) case with a secure cord (lanyard) running through the top of the case and this one meets both of my requirements. This case doesn't protect the screen (use a plastic screen protector) or the wheel so it's not waterproof but for $6 including shipping it's a handsome, sturdy alternative to the other overpriced Nano cases. It's very easy to be overwhelmed by the endless variety and expense of Nano cases. It's well made and nicely finished, holds the Nano securely (with a little play) and takes some of the larger 1/8" phone plugs (my Koss KSC-75 and Alessandro MS1 fit but my AKG K501s don't).
It's easy to use, and it's a great bargain. I highly recommend it. I have a 2nd Generation Ipod Nano. This case fits perfectly and protects like it says it does.
