iriver AFT 100 Mobile FM Transmitter Reviews

Glad I only paid $15 for the thing. Had to keep switching FM station to get a free signal. Happened repeatedly. Traveling between Southwest Utah and Vegas. Finally gave up. Hissing sound during music playback. Would not recommend. Worst part is that when a free signal suddenly received a station signal, there was a LOUD pop in the speakers, then buzzing.

These distortions were in most of the music I listened to, and changing the FM frequency didn't help. In the end I bought the Monster RadioPlay 300. I am happy with that unit. The Iriver AFT 100 worked well for one day and then I started to get distortions.

I don't think there's been a single occasion in which I have the transmitter installed but I don't want it to transmit. This is a decent option. I'd much rather it stay on permanently, or at least have an on/off switch. If you don't have an aux input in your car, you'll need an FM transmitter. However, it has an annoying tendency to turn itself off when there's a quiet passage in your music or if you're picking a new podcast, for example. It sounds fine and is easy to operate. It only takes about 20 seconds of quiet.

I first went to Best Buy looking for an FM Transmitter for my SanDisk M250.

I live in NJ and usually don't get great radio signals but, when I set this transmitter to 85.5 or 85.9 I don't hear any static at all.

All I could find there was one that was priced at $150.

I highly, highly recommend this product.

If you set the volume on the mp3 player about half way, you can turn up the radio volume and blast your music without any static.

I sounds extremely clear as long as you use the volume control on your radio rather than your mp3 player.

I started doing research and reading customer reviews and found that the IRiver AFT 100 seemed to be the most efficient one & one of the cheapest also.

I asked an employee there about it and he said all FM Transmitter are going to sound like crap and tried to sell me a cheaper one for $60.

I found the setting the volume high on the mp3 player can cause static.

Overall nice product, totally worth the price. When I bought this product I was apprehensive about its performance, especially radio static in cities. Only problem is in the downtown areas where there is disturbance. However my car radio could pickup everything the transmitter would throw.
