Iron Man Reviews
I only bought this game because of an interview I saw with the designers. One guy said that it "easily" had 8-9 hours of playing storyline, but you can easily finish it all in 2, which breaks down to $15/hr, and that's a ripoff. The function changer was also annoying. And in many levels, you can't even leave the current battle scene, or you get a "talking to." Stupid.
You ONLY get battle areas, which can be large and mazelike, but you're contained to that main area. It'd give me Unibeam when I wanted Repulsors, and it's slow to change. The guy deliberately lied. Plus, the upgrades are very limited, despite what the trailer shows, another disappointment. He also said that there was all sorts of free world roam, and that's a lie as well, too.
All in all, very average.
I can only assume that it's something they trimmed for the PS2 release, and that makes me upset. They shouldn't be trimming good things just because it's an older system. As much fun as it is to fly around as Iron Man, this game falls short in some areas. The three movie versions plus two old comic suits. The stealth mode was prominent in the ad. Not that many, though. I say rent it first, then buy it if you want. And I never get tired of those repulsor rays.
The levels themselves were open-ended, which is good when you like to explore your surroundings. To be fair, the weapons can be customized a bit, but there's no stealth mode. The PS2 could have handled it. That might be good enough for someone who only saw the movie, but for anyone acquainted with the comics, you tend to expect so much more. The ads led me to believe that the Iron Man suit could be customized, but the selection isn't as wide as I'd believed. Still, it was pretty fun.
A must have. In fact its my new favorite. This is the best game I have played in a long time.
The moments of flying around are kind of fun too, but there isn't enough here to hold your interest. If you manage to overcome all that, you'll find that the game is on the short side, and pretty much a breeze to get through. and Terrance Howard provide their voices for the game, and there are extra armors to find and unlock. There are some good points to mention though, including the fact that film stars Robert Downey Jr.
All in all, the Iron Man game may be worth a look for fans of the comic or film, but in the end, we just have another lame cash-in attempt. Iron Man is no different, as you play as 'ol shellhead and fly around and take down baddies. What really kills Iron Man is that the game is so monotonous and boring. With Iron Man being a smash hit in theaters, a video game tie-in starring the Marvel hero is only natural.
You basically do the same thing over and over again, and it isn't long before you discover just how tedious the game really is. Most of the time, movie tie-in games are pretty lame and generic, and made only to cash-in on the film.
and i got an xbox360 armor after winning easy mode somehow. but i did not get any of the other armor :( but it was cool. the iron man game was soo fun. but it only has 13 levels so yeah its a good game for [.].
