Jumbo Display Caller ID Reviews
so I thought. First the item as shown in ads and photos everywhere including on Amazon and the manufacturer's website makes it appear as if it is a bright display. The read-out worked for 10 seconds and failed again. The call waiting caller ID did not work either. It immediately failed. It is advertised as "backlit" which it is NOT (there are a few LEDs that light the front of display which only worsens the contrast.
I did everything possible all to no avail. (By the way, if you look at the Jumbo GE Caller ID display as an alternative- do not bother. After not working properly despite careful installation, I finally got it to work. It would be even better if it actually worked. They were new batteries. The read-out was incomprehensible: all broken numbers and words, and unreadable. The seller refunded my purchase price and shipping (but not my return shipping back to them).
It is not. Received calls were not displayed. The second set I tried were new batteries. Then it failed completely. This item would have phenomenal potential if it was designed properly (better contrast and true backlighting). It is now in a landfill.
I contacted the manufacturer directly and they did not respond at all (customer "service" is something they do not understand or care about). The display read-out is black but the screen background is muddy green/gray which makes the contrast abysmal. I also bought that and within a week it would click repeatedly in the middle of calls and the display is pathetic.
I took out the batteries (which supposedly are only for back-up power)and reinstalled them. The dial-back feature certainly did not work (with no ability to see received calls, dial-back was unavailable, of course). CLASSCO should rename itself CLASS-LESS or NO-CLASS.
So I lost money on the purchase. GE would not help and had me call their subsidiary which was a waste of time). Purchased this item and within one day it failed.
Half the time the LEDs didn't work anyway).
A 1/8 by 3 inch section of the display was inoperative and blank. I also would not buy via Amazon again because the order was delayed by Amazon for almost three weeks since they didn't forward the order to the dealer, or so the dealer said. I had to send it back, at my expense, and apparently they have sent me a new product at their expense. All in all, not a good experience. I'm out the cost of returning the defective product. I wouldn't buy from this dealer again. The product was defective right out of the box.
