The Kenwood HTB-S310 home theater in a box has all the basics you need to set up a home theater with outstanding sound with sleek and modern styling. Out of the box, the sound is great. With this system, in the future you may decide to pitch the speakers, but the receiver will readily power whichever new speakers you choose. When looking for a home theater in a box (HTB), I chose this Kenwood system in large part due to the inclusion of a full-featured receiver. As mentioned in many other HTB reviews, some higher quality speaker wire will be a good future investment, but I was pleasantly suprised at the sound quality with the included wires. These lack expandability, not to mention they are usually underpowered (often well under 100W per channel). For most HTB systems you buy, the speakers are powered by a multi-purpose DVD/CD/Receiver system.
