Killzone: Liberation Reviews
They give you a very rudimentary picture of the landscape. One weakness that I noticed: maps are not very helpful. This game provided the most fun that I have had so far with my PSP. Game designers should have thought about it.
Hence my four star rating. Stellar graphics and high level of difficulty is what I enjoyed the most. Placement of controls on the PSP console does not go very well with game controls and causes pain after 1-2 hours of continuous play. Considering the great job that the design team has done on the in-game graphics, maps are a let down.
I disagree with other reviewers about auto-aim feature. It is not accurate for sure, however, that makes the game more fun and difficult rather than frustrating. I still believe that this is one of the best PSP games out there in terms of maturity, graphics, weapons play, player immersion and overall experience. I agree that the controls are not the best and take a long time to master and even then you do a lot of hit-n-miss.
Would liked to have seen a Survival Mode for best time against infinite enemies. It will be much simpler. The game is not a first person shooter and is not comparable to one. Overall: 89%. Finish the game, find all the weapons and complete the side challenges, earn your perks then you can just run around and shoot the piss out of anything, which I do enjoy :P Honestly, online is my favorite aspect of this game (except the hand grenades are lame and some poor coding shows). Easy controls, target lock on, strafe, highly overpowered pistol (hand cannon, best weapon).
First off let me say for the price, this game is a steal. I am very skilled at PC FPS, and this is not meant to be nearly as technical. Fairly short game. Good price for replay value, which is fairly high.
I have bought about 8 games for the PSP, and this is one I keep coming back to for a quick mission or a few online maps. If you enjoyed arcade 3rd person shooters (Commando) or side scrollers (Contra) back in the day this game is for you and is a must own on PSP. Cons:. There are plenty of weapons and power ups to unlock. Several side quests, perks to earn. Pros:.
I remember in the original mario you could not even save and when you died it was restart the whoooole map. Beating some bosses is a lot like learning a map, just takes time (especially if you do not strafe). If you suck at this game at first, go online against a few "live" targets learn how to move and come back. Good online mode which balances the short game and download allows you to "patch" an additional campaign. It's not such a huge challenge as some make it out to be.
Good Waste of Time. Occasional frame rate chop.
Really, there isn't much of a story. Final Verdict-Five Stars. Online play is fun and competitive, with a variety of different modes that you can play. There is always a certain weapon that you can use against a boss, and every boss has weak points, and every battle can be one.
Recently, there there have been a rash of hackers who ruin the game for everyone. Competitive online play. Story- Three Stars. And if you fail, you can always change a couple settings. There's the traditional deathmath, which is a free-for-all, a team deathmatch, a capture the flag mode, and an assault mode. A great storyline, it addition to plenty of unlockables makes this game a great buy, and a steal at under $20. And I'm pretty sure you would too. You just need to try.
No game that I have played before uses a bird's eye third person view of the battlefield. But timely checkpoints at just the right places solves that problem very easily. However, if nobody is spoiling the game for everybody else, gameplay can be fun and intense and will keep you on your toes with a variety of different modes. Is it true that this game can be very difficult at times. You pick up cases of money on the battlefield and use that money to purchase better weapons.
About the difficulty level, it's hard to say that it's "difficult", just because you can't get past a certain part. Over. The game also utilizes an AI buddy system, which is actually rather well executed. Although it isn't as bad as some people say, you'll find yourself dying because you couldn't see that tank rolling in from your side. And over again. But hey, I had fun while doing it.
Another problem with online play is that the menu has lots of bugs. Sony Online Entertainment has done nothing to fix this, claiming they are too busy developing new (buggy) games. A passable story. You can tell your buddy to follow you, or order him to move to specific strategic points on the battlefield.
The online mode is fun and intense, although recently there have been a rash of hackers. It can also be quite buggy at times, randomly disconnecting you and such, and SOE has done nothing to fix it, claiming they are too busy developing Killzone 2. Lots of unlockables. But his doesn't record his kills, only his death.
There are two main gripes with this game: a bad camera and the difficulty level. So he has three gold stars, but zero kills and around two hundred deaths. Let me say that about the bad camera, it's true. Gameplay- Five Stars. Online Play- Three Stars.
All in all, I think this game is worth every penny. Summary: Really, this game is worth it. Fun campaign mode. Yes.
On mine, for example, I can't go up in rank. But my friends' can.
You play as Jan Templar, a elite super soldier who kills Helghast soldiers. The game also has a Vektan Dollars system.
When this happens, however, you can just try to find a new server. And over.
The assault mode is where the Helghast Team attempts to use C4 on specific hard points in the enemy building in order to destroy it. But for the most part, the camera is solid.
This game might have you confused for a while because the camera angle is a new idea. You could ask more for twenty dollars, but really, this is one of the most solid games I've played for a long time on the PSP.
occupied time overseas. online bonus content is cool since most games have the option but don't live up to what they say. wipeout pulse has good on-line as well.
