When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented oak finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8007U-O can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor temperature measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, or Spanish. Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. Moon phase shows in twelve increments, from new moon, through gibbous and crescent phases (waxing and waning), to quarter and finally full moon. The clock operates on two AA batteries, which should keep the clock working for about 12 months. The WS-8007U-O measures 11-1/2 by 7-1/2 by 1-1/4 inches. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its clocks. Each clock comes with a thoroughly detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers

La Crosse Technology WS-8007U-O Atomic Clock with Moon Phase Reviews
I bought this atomic clock for my 5th wheel so I dont have to keep setting it when the power is off. I also like the moon phase on the clock. I also like the fact I can use the outdoor sensor for the underbelly of my 5th wheel and know the temperature under there when it is freezing cold.
This model, WS-8007, has the poorest receiver of all of these La Crosse clocks. I do not recommend this particular model. I own 4 La Crosse Radio Controlled clocks (2xWS-8007, 1xWS-8157, 1xWT-2171 and 1 La Crosse WT-981L Radio Controlled watch. The watch and the other two clocks pick up the 60kHz signal from anywhere in the house, but this model HAS to be near a window. I also own an Atomix 005821A and it works everywhere except my office at work, which works about 25% of the time. Could be poor electronics or poor tuning of the internal antenna.
Dailight Savings Time is coming up, that will be one of it's first "real" tests. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I haven't had it that long. I haven't had any problems with this clock. So I'm not sure how it's overall durability will be, but so far so good. If you're thinking about buying it I say go for it. maybe 3 or 4 weeks. It does what it's supposed to, and looks pretty good doing it.
I did not however give this clock 5 stars because when you try and "program" this clock it won't do what you want it to do, not sure if it how the owners manual is written, or whether the manual is out of date with changes in how to adjust the features. This was a replacement clock for one that fell off the kitchen wall. Overall this is a sweet clock. I like the look of this clock and I like the choices you have for different displays. I was very familiar with this clock since I had the original one for almost 3 years.
A major concept of an "atomic" clock to me meant I would not have to reset it for DST. Other clocks in my home took care of it. I waited two weeks, and this clock did not. I can't trust if for the true time, so I am sorry I purchased it.
