Tootin' Our Laser. We don't like to brag, but it's tough not to in a case like this. This is a wonderful pen-shaped laser pointer, 5-1/4" long, flat black with gold pocket clip and head. It throws a red point a loong way (we've thrown it two city blocks at night, and it would've gone farther, but buildings got in the way). And what are we so proud of? We've seen a very similar item-not identical, mind you, but essentially the same-in one of those glossy, toys-for-grown-men catalogs. Their price? $40! Stronger than regular cheap laser pointers and uses AAA batteries which is better than those watch batteries.
Probably not the highest quality laser pointer, but the cats love it. I have not measured the distance, but it shines as far as I can point it out of my house. Works great for my usage. Very easy to hold the button and keep the laser on, as some I've had before the button pushed so hard you could only keep it on for a few seconds at a time.
It also broke after a week of normal use. While it does have a nice metal body the quality is rather poor. I will now have to invest in a more expensive and hopefully better laser pointer.
Great follow up service and the pointer now works as expected. The product did not work when it first arrived but after the problem was reported the company called and had it fixed within a minute.
Our dog loves to run after that "little red dot" and likes to dig for it if you hold it in one spot. Aside from the obvious reasons people buy these little gatchets ours is mostly used as a doggie toy. This one is a good quality product and has lasted us a lot longer than our first one. He likes it so much that he already gets excited if we pick up a pen because he thinks it is the laser pointer.
