Legacy of Kain: Defiance Reviews
I would play the game all over again The graphics on Defiance blows away any other Legacy of Kain game. The Final Chapter (for now at least)proved to be the best overall game of the series.
Now in Defiance, of course I played it all through but around the 3rd time of going through the same temple portal twice (using both characters) I was bored out of my mind. The only other gripe is the point of view in the game, its very cinematic-like point of view, which shows off the lovely graphics and models in the game, but ruins some of the gameplay where you cant get your point of view away from a corner or a pillar.
I gave this 4 out of 5 just because of those two bad things in the game, but I ignored them because this story is an amazing one and the things you are doing throughout the game keep you busy.
To start off I loved the point of view in that and the sequel to that game, and the story was so compelling that I couldn't get enough, the time travel and gaining abilites and weapons as you go was an amazing idea. The story picked up after that again.
I started playing the Legacy of Kain series from soul reaver 1. Overall it is a very challenging and intriguing that anyone who plays this will accept its flaws and love the story and battles of this game.
Only when you hit the final blow theres a bit but it disapears in mid air. Its a must have. You play as the vampire god Kain or the fallen angel Raphiel. This game should be rated teen because there is hardly any blood. This game is so cool you suck blood and fight knights, demons, zombies etc.
Buy this game along with Blood Omen 2 right here at Amazon.com, or anywhere alse you can find. You won't be disappointed. I played Soul Reaver for PSOne a little after, but I unfortunately hated it, so I wasn't sure about what I said anymore, until I got this game. Once you beat the game (it has no difficulty setting, but the game is a perfect challenge: not too easy, not too hard) you get lots of extra photos and lots of videos about the game (videos include the guys recording their lines for the game, some videos showing some scenario's development, from beggining until the complete thing that you see in the game, among others). Yes. What's special in this title, why should you buy this title among many others you can buy.
Ok. What are you waiting for, gamer. Any extras. As if that wasn't enough, you can also collect little objects found thoughout the game that unlock even more photos, rare photos about the series. Being said that, this game is worth every penny you put in it (you'll spend atleast 10 hours playing the main game from begging to end, if you have a walkthrough in hand; because if you don't, you can get to 18 hours easily). After beating Blood Omen 2 for GCN, I figured something out: Legacy Of Kain would, most likely, be my favorite horror/adventure series ever.
Other very fine extras are the Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 intro movies, avaliable since you start the game. It has the best virtual character ever: Kain; it has the best voice acting ever (tied with Blood Omen 2, and since it's also avaliable for the Xbox, you should buy both, just as I did), it has amazing graphics, awesome combat system and outstanding storyline (specially if you have played the previous games and if you understood the previous games' history, because this series has one of the most complicated stories I've ever read).
This game is great and a HUGE improvement over the last LofK game for Xbox. Good original story line, great voice acting, easy to use controls, playing as two different characters, etc. Don't miss out.as soon as you load this you'll get sucked in. The graphics are top-notch and although it is a bit hard to see with the camera angle from time to time, the game is fast-paced and the downright creepy characters keep you involved. all make this one of the best games available on Xbox.
