Lenmar DLC5L Lithium-ion Digital Camera/Camcorder Battery Equivalent to the Canon NB-5L Battery Reviews

After coming home I recharged the original Canon battery, and it works, which means that it's not the camera or charger's problem, but the Lenmar battery's. I bought this battery on April 29, 2008. Since it's intended to be a spare battery, I hadn't needed to use it until last weekend when I went on a 3-day trip. I charged it to full (the green indicator in the original Canon charger came on indicating that it was supposed to be "fully charged"). Now that the 30-day return period is over, I can only get partial refund.

I was quite frustrated by the poor quality of this battery, as I never used it before last weekend, and kept it in a cool, dry, safe corner of my home. It was most inconvenient to me because it's completely useless when I need it the most. Yes, it's cheap, but it's not worth the hassle. I used it for the first time and it doesn't work.

Figuring in the time and postage on the possible return, it's not even worth the return or refund. I will NEVER EVER buy this batter again. However, it just didn't work in the camera.

The battery is for a Canon SD 950IS. I have purchased less expensive batteries from the big auction site that have failed after a years use or have degraded in their ability to retain a charge. This has not happened with the Lenmar. It is indistinguisable from the OEM Canon battery It has survived a full year with no problems.

I bought the battery as a second for my canon 890is, and it's worked beautifully - at 1/3 the price of the "official" battery.

After reading several reviews, chose this one based upon the price and the milliamp rating. If I were to estimate, this battery did not even last for about 20-30 pictures (based upon the number of total pictures taken and other factors). I used it in Disney/Universal/SeaWorld in Florida and you can image that I did not need to use the flash for day time shots - except when in indoors or in shows where the photos were permitted. Stay away from this.

Got this for my Canon 950 12MP camera. The main issue is that the charge doesn't hold up at all - even after a full 10 hour charge. As they say, you get what you pay for. My strong suggestion is that if you are going to be using your camera heavily, do pay more and get the real Canon one - which will last. Yes, there are camera settings that will allow you to take those shots, but I just didnt bother. I did call Amazon for a refund/return.

The original one lasted for almost 2 or more days, while this one barely made it half a day. Read below for a detailed explanation. They have emailed me the RMA - will be mailing it out soon. And keep looking for other ones to replace this. In a word, its Junk.

Second issue is that my camera kept complaining to "replace battery" with in a few minutes of using this "fully charged" one. Later. Most of my shots are set to Auto flash mode with red eye reduction. OR buy more than one of these and get extra chargers too - because you are going to need them. I had to open the battery cover, take it out and then put it back in and close the cover to make the message go away. In detail:. Hi all,.

In all, I might have taken about 400/450 shots on our 7 day trip to FL. In comparing with the original one that came with the camera, this one is way way behind. Also, I did refrain from taking pictures of fireworks or night time stuff that I know would not come out properly. This is a huge drawback and a big one too.

It actually lasts longer than the canon battery that came with my camera. I am so happy with this.
