Lexmark X1240 Color All-in-One Inkjet Printer Reviews

However, in order to even simply copy it must be attached to a computer which is powered up. It would be more efficient if it functioned as a stand-alone copier. Otherwise, it is as advertised and probably worth the minimal price. I have used several of these all-in-one printers over the years and this is the first one that will not function as a simple copier by itself. This Lexmark is advertised as "all-in-one" but to me that suggests that it functions as a scanner, printer, and copier.

It just prints pictures in very, very poor quality. It came with both color and b&w ink cartridges as well as a USB cable, despite what other reviewers are saying. You get what you pay for. I guess it's just my luck to get a defective one.

I tried using "BEST" quality, I cleaned the nozzles (though the cartridges were NEW) and I even tried a different color cartridge. I don't know how so many other people are getting quality printing out of it. It printed a BEAUTIFUL test page (the three colored lines came out great), but when I try to print photos they come out completely different and crappy quality, no matter how many "troubleshooting" methods I try. Shell out for a better printer if you want to print photos.

I bought this new from Walmart for $29.99. I have not used the scanner or fax, so I can't comment on those components.

Bought this as a gift and no problems so far at all. Love Lexamrk products.

Printing is slow but like the scanning/copying, the quality is excellent. The main gripe is the ink cartridges. Scanning/copying is slow but the quality is excellent. The printer itself only has 5 buttons on it so it's easy to operate. They don't last long and they are costly. Overall, I'll admit, there have been a few printers I might have bought before I actually bought this one but still, I'm satisfied.

The Lexmark All in One Center program is very easy to navigate (on the pc). One last very important note, the printer does NOT come with a USB cable so have one on hand and it comes only with the color ink cartridge (you'll need to buy the b/w). You can shop around for cheaper ink and it won't mess up your printer. In a nut shell, it is a "good" buy if you're not too concerned about speed. That is how printer companies make their money so that is expected. The paper feed might have problems only if you stack (100 or more) papers in the slot.

The Lexmark X1240 Color All in One Inkjet Printer is not the best or the worst printer you can buy.

This printer works well enough, not good for printing photos but that's not why I bought it anyway. It's crazy that it's cheaper to buy a new printer with ink, than to just buy new ink. It does print fairly slowly, not near as fast as my old HP that quit. That's where we get gouged. I heard that 3M is. The price was right. Is some company coming out with quality ink at a reasonable price. It bothers me that ink is SO expensive.
