Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter, WUSB600N
The Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter is the simple way to add or upgrade wireless connectivity in your desktop or notebook computer. Just plug it into your computer's USB port and enjoy incredible high-speed wireless network access. The Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios for each band, Wireless-N's "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless-G. And with Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G, -A, and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the throughput can be increased even more by using twice as much radio band
Dual-band wireless networks operate in both the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz radio bands at the same time, effectively doubling the available wireless bandwidth. For instance, you could set up your network to handle video streaming on one radio band, and use the other band for simultaneous data transfers -- avoiding any interference or collisions that would degrade the video performance. The Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter allows you to connect using whichever band works the best for your situation. Operates in the 2.4 and 5GHz radio bands -- choose the one with least congestion in your area Also connects to Wireless-G, -B, and -A networks

Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter, WUSB600N Reviews
So since then no problems. Works real well. Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router Very easy to hook up only problem I had was I was trying to run it by the product. Kept losing connection. I have router on one desktop and the adapterr on the other PC. Then finally windows message came on would you like windows to control.
It sometimes "forgets" the WLAN configuration. The range is better than 802.11 G, but not by much. barely enough to maintain a connection. However, I have two complaints.
First, the Linksys software is annoying and unreliable. Second, the range is disappointing. This product does the job. At 100 ft the signal has already faded to 1-2 bars. I recommend installing the software (to get the drivers) and the using the built-in Windows software to manage the wireless connections.
It also sometimes thinks the device has been removed, when it has not.
I got this adapter working on a iBook G4. I got good instructions on the following forum: forum.insanelymac.com. I have a stronger connection and faster speed. You'll need to get the drivers elsewhere though. Performs better than the built-in Airport.
If you are looking to set up a fast wireless system this is a great product. Great product. This has allowed me to set up a very fast network in a older house that is tough to wire. Many of my older laptops and computers either have older wireless or none at all.
However, the person did not appear to know anything but the scripts she had been given real trouble-shooting was not part of the conversation. This new product is going back to Staples tomorrow and I'll see if someone else's equipment works better.
While I've been happy with Linksys equipment for years. The wait for telephone support was short.
The Wireless-N adapter will connect with the WRT160N, but not with the Internet. After about 5 hours of work, including hours on the phone with Linksys support, I cannot get this network adapter to connect to the Internet from my Windows 2000 Pro computer through my Linksys WRT160N wireless router.
Plus, the Wireless-N software is much slower than that for the WUSB11. When I replaced the Wireless-N with my old WUSB11, the WUSB11 connected immediately.
