Complete waste of money. Trust me. Dont waste your money on this crap. You can get most of thee features with a ten dollar universal remote. The software wont fix any problems with it and you have to point it at whtever it is you want to work even with brand new batteries. It turns off your xbox when you just want to watch tv. There is no video select switch and you to press seven buttons to get anything to work.
It works superb. I use it on my Samsung 32 inch LCD, Xbox 360, dvd/vcr recorder, cable box and even the ir remote for my ps3. I recommend everyone who is thinking of buying one does. Does everything the more expensive models do for a lot less. This remote is well worth every penny you spend on it.
after 14 months of normal use, LCD is not displaying properly and the buttons are not responsive as it used to be. It can control almost all my home theater system. Great flexibility. But bad quality and not durable. I even treat this remote as good as my digital SLR). Would not recommend this product and simply waste of money. (heck. My cheap 20 dollar universal remote outlasted this expensive piece of junk.
I had a lot of good things to say about this remote before my internet connection failed and realized that the configuration software needs an internet connection. This means that I cannot take it to my vacation house
You basically load the software on your PC, let it know what devices you have, then use the remote and see if it works. A+++. The remote will troubleshoot for you. I have gone through 2 other universal remotes which were supposed to support the XBOX 360 for DVD playback but neither worked. It very well may work and I just haven't discovered it yet.
It may have worked if I took the time to do that, but this is 2008. I don't take the time to write many reviews unless a product blows me away. I only spent about 30 minutes with it so I'm likely overlooking something. This remote seems to be based on a standard Logitech Universal Remote and just adds the XBOX functionality.
I have never been through an easier process. The beauty of this remote is programming it to work with my devices. This product blew me away. For example, my TV was tuning to the wrong input when I chose to "Play Xbox". My only complaint is I can't figure out how to change radio stations on my receiver.
It even has the 4 XBOX colored buttons. VERY COOL. The remote asks if it worked. I clicked no and it let me through a troubleshooting process ON THE REMOTE and fixed itself. I could never get one of them to recognize my XBOX 360 and the other required me to send the remote in to their service center for a firmware upgrade.
If it doesn't, there isnt any complex programming.
