Logitech MX 1000 Laser Cordless Mouse Reviews
I've been a PC tech for 2 decades and still play Great games Like fear, biosphere, etc.
The new logitechs don't have half as many buttons. I don't know why they discontinued it, (probably to many returns as it's quite complex) so enjoy the best mouse while you can.
I love the way you can program the buttons and there are more buttons then any other logitech to date. Some stores still have new ones as I just bought one in a sealed container (very rare).
I tried the new Razor Launchises (spelled wrong) and the extra buttons are hard to reach even with long fingers like mine. The Logitech 1000 is by far the most well thought out mouse I've ever had.
Yes the battery can not be replaced by the consumer but it's still the best.
I use it 8 hrs a day. This is a good mouse. If you install Logitech software to program additional buttons, the issue becomes worst. The shape is very comfortable for hand. It would not scroll smoothly and click where I want to click. I have been using this over a year now. So beware.
Then I googled and found the issue with Logitech and Microsoft all over. It went crazy when I started to use MS Activesync. I researched the issue more and I think Logitech is to blame. Both the companies pointing to each other for compatibility - consumers suffer. I did not realize it and thought the mouse life is over. Battery life is excellent.
Let me tell you something.that's a crock. It still had two pegs of life left and worked perfectly fine. I use this thing nearly 24/7 and there've been several occasions where I forgot to put it on the charging cradle. I'd say it's still holding up pretty well. seraph_phoenix@yahoo.com Yes, I'd like the dpi to be a bit higher, but hey, I bought this thing over two years ago. The dpi is good, at the time of release it was great, it's very comfortable and the battery lasts forever.
Bottom line: if you want a mouse that will LAST with battery-life, feels comfortable, looks nice and is precise, then this is a great mouse to consider purchasing. I read a few other reviews, stating the battery ran out or that it will burn out after so many months of continuous use. Matter of fact, I was very busy during the holidays at work shortly after I first got the mouse and ended up leaving it turned on, sitting on my keyboard tray for 4 days. I have had absolutely NO problem with this mouse, and I'm picky. It's not a gaming mouse by any means really, but it's great.
I am a big online gamer and internet user, so I'm pretty much online 24/7 if I'm not at work. This mouse is fantastic. Guess what. I bought this mouse when I worked at CompUSA 2 1/2 years ago when it first came out. I love mine, feel free to email me if you have any questions about it.
The battery lasts for weeks. Some people have reported the cursor jumping around the screen unpredictably. (Days if I'm doing some graphics work, as it gets heavy use) I don't normally park it in the charging base because I don't need to until I get a warning that the battery is low or I am expecting to do a lot of work. Charge time is rather quick too. Response time is great, there is no coming out of sleep delay like with a MS cordless mouse I had previously. I have seen that several times. but it usually means that there is something caught near the sensor. Excellent Product.
This mouse also works great in Ubuntu Linux (All buttons and the scroll wheel). I just blew on the bottom of the mouse to clear it out. Logitech has done it again.
I tried a few wireless mice over the years and got very tired of constantly changing the battery, coping with flaky signals, and so on. It is very comfortable. I have had no signal problems despite having the base right next to a 21" CRT monitor. I got this one well over a year ago, and after using it many hours a day at work I liked it well enough to buy a second for use at home. Once every several days, I have to put it in the base to recharge the battery, which is still holding up just fine.
