When I bought it, the price was incredibly reasonable. But the price was great. The web cam is fancier and higher quality then I need. A week later the price increased by over $10. I contact Amazon by phone and received the answer of that's how it is.
Not a bad deal. When I went to college, I needed a webcam that was Skype compatible, so I could talk to all my friends on my clunker of a laptop. This one works just finethe quality isn't great, and doesn't have many added features, but was inexpensive enough that I didn't expect those things.
The software is super easy to install and the quality of the images is great. If you want a cheap webcam for Skype or such, this is it. I use it with my laptop, just plug it into USB port and clip on.
Also tried the MS VX-1000; did not work. Suspect the drivers will be updated eventually. Got the QuickCam Messenger instead; cam and microphone work out of the box; same specs.
I gave it to my wife and she loves it. Now she gets to see the grandkids via web cam. After setting it up and playing with it I found that it is a very good product. It does what is says it will do and I and my wife find it simple and easy to use.
