I like the fact that these are 110v plug in powered, that saves me a USB port.
Needs an (Optional)add-on matching sub-woofer. I purchased two sets of these for two office desktop computers.
The volume knob is convenient and easy to operate. The sound quality is great, they feel well made and have substantial weight for their small size, they are not cheap and plasticlike.
Another plus is that there is ample wire between the speakers to place one on each side of dual 19" monitors. The product met my needs at an amazing price.

Honestly, the static is negligible. $9 speakers do have their drawbacks though. I thought it was some sort of a frequency issue, so I tried moving them further away from my laptop, but that didn't do much. I have been hearing static whenever the volume knob for the speakers is low, and nothing is playing on my computer. Overall, you will be satisfied with their performance. I purchased the Logitech S120's for about $9, so I wasn't expecting crystal clear surround sound results, but I have been satisfied with them thus far. $9 for small speakers that deliver great sound (believe me, they're around 5000x better than my Dell Inspiron 1525 integrated speaker) is one of the greatest deals out there.
THE LOGITECH SPEAKERS ALLOW ME TO HEAR MY FAVORITE RADIO STATION. WITHOUT THEM MY WORK WOULD BE FUTILE.
Besides that, it's a great product. My I/O board and the washer couldn't fix this problem. Great logitech speakers. However, the only problem is it picks up a lot of radio waves and so sometimes puts out static noises.
If your laptop speakers are really quiet, you'll probably like these. So I was a bit disappointed, but they do enable me to watch movies on my laptop a bit more easily than the laptop speakers do. The speakers are small and attractive-looking.unfortunately, they aren't much louder than my laptop, even when turned all the way up (I have a Dell XPS). I bought these b/c my laptop speakers are not loud enough and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on anything high tech.
