Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks Reviews
They all love it. Excellent battery duration (like 4-6 months in full office use). Bought a few of these for some coworkers and relatives.
I don't mind the smaller size at all and I'm a big guy at 6'2". The smaller file doesn't do anything useful. It should be about 50mb. The logitech download is a bit confusing though.
However, given the price difference I'm still pleased with the choice. Find the download for the cordless mouse. Make sure you download the software for it since its the only way to get a good balance between mouse speed and touchpad speed - and you get the horizontal scrolling by tilting the wheel. If all your usb ports are on the side of the laptop you might consider the model with the really small usb dongle since it is a bit annoying sticking out on the side. The mouse does everything its supposed to.
Not a big issue for storing the mouse since you can flip the mouse switch to off and store the USB plug separately, like I do. I bought this mouse for my laptop and love it.
It is a little bigger than the smallest laptop mice available, but it still fits into one of the internal pockets of my Dell laptop case. You can also leave the USB plug detached and flip the on/off switch on the bottom of the mouse with a fingertip.
One feature I like is that the mouse turns on and off when you slide the mini USB plug in or out of the base holder respectively, thus extending battery life. Although the base footprint is only about two inches wide by three and a half inches long, like most mice, this one has a lot of sculpted edges and protruding curves (if curves can protrude) so the extreme measurements are: one and a half inches at the highest point (basically the palm rest), two and three sixteenths inches at the widest point (across the top thru the center of the scroll wheel) and three and three quarters inches long.
I have had no problems with the operation (plugged and played), works great and the price was decent. I just used the Windows drivers.
Software downloads are online, but I didn't even bother with it. What I don't particularly like is that the USB plug, when cradled in the bottom, adds to the overall height of the mouse and prevents it from sitting flat.
(the Microsoft notebook mouse only turns off by snapping the USB connector in-I had to take the battery out when I took the mouse away from the PC by mistake). The cute little mouse works fine now. I went to logitech website and downloaded. I like that this mouse has an actual on-off switch that the user can manually turn it off. Mouse has LED to indicate if the battery is low. Also logitech included the battery. The USB stick on this mouse is close to full size. Logitech also has mice with a tiny usb connector (easier to lose).
(1 AA). Plastic is perforated so it's not too hard to open the package. Good packaging as well. Sliding the USB connector will also turn of the mouse. When I plugged the mouse in, Vista searched the internet for a driver but couldn't find it.
But, I just love these. could not stand the abuse from my 3-year-old. Very quick response, very good battery life, compact and cool looking. Would definitely recommend this one to anyone. This is my second one of this model, the first one died.
