Logitech Z-5450 Digital 5.1 Speaker System ( 970181-0403 ) Reviews

So if you're thinking about buying this system, and you have a bunch of wireless stuff (phones, mouse, keyboard, game controllers, router, whatever) don't do it, 2.4 ghz is oversaturated, and the z-5450 seems to interfere on ALL 2.4ghz signals. This is a fantastic system, if you have nothing else that is wireless. It's so frustrating. I have the G7 laser mouse from Logitech, which I cannot use at the same time the speakers are on because of interference, and also it completely destroys your wifi, also your cordless phones (if they are 2.4 ghz) are useless, my xbox 360 controllers can't be used when the speakers are on.

It has plenty of inputs and for the space I'm using it in sounds great. The wireless rear speakers are what really sold me on this device. Logitech has really come along way I replaced my Home Surround system with the Z-5450. It's a great product all around. I'm not sure it would do as well in a larger room but in my condo it's perfect.

Great product.

No need for extension cords then.

While the system isnt competely wireless, it does do away with traditional speaker wire to the two satelite speakers.

Wireless setup works best if you have an outlet on the wall behind you.

Great service.

Awesome bass.

A few weeks after purchasing this system I dropped one of the wireless speakers and it stopped working.

Amazon had another entire system shipped and at my house BEFORE I had the old one boxed up.

I was taken in by the good reviews, but the z-5450 is really not the best option you have. as well, though I can't confirm that from personal experience. These speakers really do sound great, but they are fatally flawed. Don't waste outlet space with these fatties, get wired speakers - you have to run long wires, but they can more easily be concealed than these. Buy the z-5500 if you were seriously looking at these speakers.

I had to wrap them around the base of the speakers to hide them, and they still looked unattractive crawling up to a wall outlet. The z-5500's have wired rear speakers, so no wireless disruption, you can buy longer wire and conceal it, and the reviews for sound are even better than the z-5450s. The power cords on the "wireless" rear speakers are also quite fat and long. My Logitech MX Revolution wireless mouse is impossible to use when these speakers are on, and I've heard that they will disrupt wireless Internet, cell phones, etc. I got rid of my 5450s in favor of the 5500s.

The wireless rear speakers disrupt other wireless hardware.

I have one of the wireless speakers plugged into the same power strip as my Netgear wireless router and have never had a problem. This is a great system. The only grip is that the rear speakers output is not adjustable. At my old address, there were several people that had home Wi-fi and it worked fine there to. I would like a little more out of them, but ,even in retrospect, I would still buy this system. I don't know about the other reviews and there problems, but mine works just as promised.
