I have read a few reviews and people complain that you have sound quality issues -- once and a while. If I had all the services that Magic Jack has, my land line bill would be about $100 a month -- God only knows how much it would be with international calls. Your voice mail is sent to your e-mail account as an attachment, if caller ID displays the name -- it is in the subject line. If you are working on a project, you can save them in a folder. I had one sent to my Son and instead of a 2000 per month cell phone plan, they are down to the lowest one available (700). No it is not perfect, but for $20 a year -- what do you expect. For the last 2 months, I have been using it for over 4 hours a day (home bound and still need to make a living), I have had a problem 2 times!! I had to call back and it was fine, some people complain about free services.
I've had magicjack for about a year now and when i first got it it worked ok. but now when I talk to someone more often that not my call will be dropped and I will have to call the person back. the person on the other end cannot understand me because my voice is either breaking up or my voice is sounding like a machine with echoes and the same thing when i'm talking to someone; their voice breaks up or sounds machine like. they don't have a phone number for customer service, you have to go to their websight which doesn't help you at all. and to think that I bought 2 years of service.
this product is a joke if you have a normal pc forget it you will never be able to run the software it will freez u'r pc like hell ... and they say calls are free that coz you never able to talk more then 3 mits and the call will drop...this is a cheep phone line and bleave me it's cheep quality as well iam going back to the land line this is a rip off you have to have a world class pc to run it if you don't don't get it
I see a lot of negative reports being given about this product. For me, it is just one great invention. From the moment I inserted it to this present moment which is about two weeks, it has worked just fine. This divice owes me nothing. I dear say that it paid for itself the very first day I started using it. I used it for about six hours straight. This bill would have been far more costly than the Magic Jack. Very good product. Keep up the good work.
Tried this item for a couple of months on my Mac. Didn't live up to the hype:
1. Poor audio quality.
2. Continuous connection problems.
3. Help is online and very poor.
4. Ultimately would not work at all with no recourse through online help.
Dealing with this outfit is worse than dealing with a used car dealer. Didn't ask for my money back just that they close the account so that no future unauthorized charges could be made (like for long distance and such). "No can do," they said. Who ever heard of an account that couldn't be closed?
Went back to regular phone service with no regrets. There's little magic in the magicjack.
