Major League Baseball 2K7 Reviews
But it's not bad at all. Worth buying. Also, by adjusting some of the players as their skills improve (or decrease) in baseball can make the game more realistic too. I give it a 4 out of 5. 2k7 is not a perfect game. Adjust the AI levels in pitching, fielding, and hitting to where it's not too difficult, but not too easy and you can enjoy the game.
Pros. -pitching is slow. lots of fun. overall, solid game. -although graphics are awesome, MVP had better face and player graphics.
-different weather modes, cold, cloudy, afternoon. More for hardcore baseball gamers. Cons. -easy and smooth gameplay. you really see the true Atlanta Braves colors in this game. the graphics are awesome. -sometimes, the game can seem to computerized and at times, it seems slow.
-custom music, including batter intro music. -rich in colors and design. -old school pitching and hitting modes. MLB 2K7 for Xbox is solid.
in MVP 2005, which i still play, you make one roster move, and then you've got to make 10 more just to fit the bill. -awesome detailed graphics. the gameplay is easy and smooth and the rosters are easier to mess with because you only have the MLB and Triple A rosters to play with. -commentary from ESPN. compare the 2, and you'll know what i mean.
My kids had 2k5 and loved it, so I bought 2k7 and they're in heaven.
The game is a lot of fun, the graphics are great, once you get use to the game play it is a good time. And the base running should be a little more intuitive, if you accidently hit the run button, the computer should retract the players rather than let them run into a base accidently for an out. However; the computer makes too many unbelievable catches. The computer will climb the wall and steal away homeruns, or it will have it's players layout for amazing diving catches, the kind that you'd see only once in an entire season from your hall of famers, not every other inning.
Sure it has good features, but it is let down by poor gameplay. Lets say an outfielder fields the ball and throw it to an infielder, the commentators will announce that "X, boots the ball.". it has already been mentioned, but I have to add my two cents. The commentary sucks. I will be returning MLB 2K7 as soon as possible. At least 2 or 3 times a game the commentary doesn't match the play. OH YEAH, I almost forgot.
I would not recommend this game to anyone. The base-running is extremely frustrating, as the response is soooo slow. It may seem minor, but combined with the other problems it gets under me skin. If you want to play a good baseball go with the EA Sports college baseball game. This is a very disappointing game. Also, when fielding the players can take on a life of their own. The only good point with the gameplay is the pitching, which is challenging and quite fun.
