You can get hooked very easily.
The game is easy to understand and very intuitive.
The feedback from the controller and the visual effects actually make me at times feel a little motion sickness.
My wife thought I was wasting our money when I came home with the game.
I bought Mario Kart with Wheel based on positive feedback from a few colleagues at work.
We are very satisfied with our purchase.
After 5 minutes she was hooked.
Every night we look forward to playing the game after dinner.
However, after watching me play, she quickly became anxious to play.
i have only a few WII games and Mario Kart is the one i play most. lol i use to play it on super nintendo and now it's even better with the little steering wheel for the WII. i love the driving games and this one is my favorite. i love this game. i'm pretty sure i'll still be playing this game in 5 years, unless something better than the WII comes out.
If you are buying this for the online play though, you may want to reconsider. They have codes they can use so they have star power through the entire game for instance. Mario Kart Wii is a fantastic game. The online play is being plagued by cheaters. In fact I would say it is the best Mario Kart game to date. Great game to play with friends, but the online play is being ruined by geek cheaters. There are also ways they can have unlimited bullet bill, etc.
What a great game this is for the ENTIRE family. While Mario Kart Wii can be hard to find online and/or at the store, keep trying. It is easy enough at the beginning to simply "pick up and play" without the steep learning curve of other racing games. The game is packed with features and options that keep it highly entertaining. Yet, it gets progressively more challenging as your skills increase. Our 3 preschool-aged sons love this as much as I do, their 37-year-old mom. The wait was worth it.
You can also play this game over the internet. They include fun new courses created for this version as well as the best of the courses from the older incarnations of this game. Each copy comes with one steering wheel. Or, if none of them are on line, you can race against strangers. You don't need to use the wheel, however. Naturally, with four players, the screen becomes smaller, so you'd want to have a larger TV. Of course, that means they can attack you as well, so watch out. I still haven't figured out quite how they set the receiver to do that.
The basic game play is pretty much the same. With this incarnation, you've got 32 courses to play. You start out with half of them available and earn the other half as you win races. Along the way, you can pick up power ups to help you or hinder your opponents. This game can be played by one person or up to four people, each needing their own controllers.
After playing this game on my friend's Wii, I went out and bought a Wii and this game. You are controlling one of the characters from the Mario universe as you attempt to race around tracks and win. The game will set up matches from your region or around the world. That's how much I enjoyed it. But it really don't dampen my enjoyment in the slightest. The graphics are quite uneven on this game. Overall, this is a fun game that I know I will be playing for a long time to come. Heck, you can even use your nunchuck controller if you'd like.
That's right. Just put your regular remote in the wheel and suddenly you can steer your car. Admittedly the entire thing is rather cartoonish. I've raced against friends across town who also have it. I have the original Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo. The newer levels look pretty good, but the older ones are done in the same, cheesy style. But what really makes this game amazing in the remote. You can just use your remote, although it isn't nearly as much fun.
