Mario Party DS

You'd think years of defeat would get to a guy, but Bowser just doesn't give up! He's captured Mario and his friends in his pursuit of a crystal that the group collected when it fell from the sky, and he doesn't hesitate to shrink them to miniature size to get rid of them and get his hands on the other four crystals. The mini-heroes have to find the crystals before he does, making their way through giant environments filled with enormous creatures. The single-player campaign takes place in five different settings, each of them ending with a boss. As usual, players have to collect coins and stars, at the same time escaping dangers such as Piranha Plants and other classic creatures from the Mario universe. As they progress through the game, players also can unlock various mini-games, such as Rail Riders, Sweet Sleuth and Goomba Wrangler! When players are tired of exploring the story mode, they can choose one of the other modes, like Puzzle and Minigame. Play with up to four friends on the DS' local Wi-Fi and let the party begin! Mario Party DS Reviews

The kids will have a blast(and so may the adults) This is no exception. Nintendo has always stayed true to these series. the Mario and Donkey/Ditty series games have always been a hit.

If you can handle being repeatedly beaten up by the computer then go ahead. It's frustrating to say the least when your opponents all have seven stars and rolling ten every time and you don't have any and can't roll above a three. This happened right at the end of a game so I was SOL and had to start all over again. It always puts the stars right in front of the AI players. Traditionally when you complete a game, bonus stars are given for most coins, most mini games won, etc. Where the stars fall, what number on the dice block you hit, things like that. This presented an oppourtunity for a player to still win through skill even if they weren't able to come up with enough stars on the board.

But with that option gone, the game is more chance than ever, and like I said the program is written to favor the computer nine times out of ten. Otherwise, save your money. This game would be a lot of fun, except for the fact that the program is designed to intentionally screw you over. It always rolls a higher number for the AI players and leaves you in the dust. Being a Mario Party game much of the game is up to change. What a letdown. I wish I had. It's also off balance with the mini games.

But by "chance" I had to duel with the computer and lost all my stars when suddenly the AI player got really good and beat me without blinking. There was a duel mini game that I had played a few times and had gotten very good at and had beaten the computer everytime. But the program for the game always favors the computer on those chances. It's also dissapointing that there are no bonus stars. I've been playing MP games for a long time and have gotten quite good at the mini games.

This game is worth the money. Its a lot of fun. One of the best DS games I own at the moment. If you have played mario party games before it is just like those only new minigames, other classic games, and the use of the stylus and microphone.

It's definitely a must have. My 7 yrs old son loves this Nintendo DS game over any of his other games, and he has about 7 others (including MarioKart and DiddyKong Racing).

There were many boards where I just had to sit and watch while the game played on it's own (as 3 other players). I also did not like the mini games very well as some of them it seemed I could not control the results very well. This was quite a disappointment. I guess I was hoping for a game similar to Super Mario Bros but this was not even near that. I got bored with it.
