Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Reviews
A lot of fun. You can get a collection of very sweet rides to race in & you can take them onto Xbox Live. I am playing this game alot & I often use a "open all maps" cheat to just go ahead & race where ever I want, no problem (all games should have cheats). Each vehicle type requires a different driving style (of course) & there a speacial weapon-attacks that vary according to vehicle type that add a fun, optional dimention to gameplay. You've got so many cars here, big old classics & hella new cars as well including SUV's, plus a variety of motorcycles. The sounds are real cool too (did another reviewer complain). It looks great driving fast through all these city streets, the detailed eye-candy scenery zooming by. Customization is extensive & off the hook.
The rain looks great, the snow looks great & makes a cool vortex trail behind yours & other vehicles. Different times of day are looking good here, I feel driving at midnight is the best. You don't have to be Einstein to play this, it's very arcadish in a good way, but some events are pretty challenging. I think this is one of my favorite Xbox games. This is a beautiful looking, sounding & playing game, one the programmers should be proud of & one any Xbox owner should have. Recommended.
ok.if you love customizing your car, intense driving, and just love to customizing everything about your car, GET THIS GAME. everything else is perfect. it will seem a little short - but only because you'll get hooked. not to forget the fun you have racing tuners, suvs, choppers, bikes, muscles, and more. it has a huge selection ranging from little decals to vinyls to transmissions to about 80 different rims.
The one thing I however loved about NFSU2 was driving my car around with the engine and sound effects turned up. Realism is not part of the game and that is fine I really didn't want that. For instance the Z06 Corvette has better real life handling and speed times than many of the other cars in the game but you wouldn't know that from the game. I can not tell you how many times I would be a turn away from the finish line in the lead and low and behold here comes a car, bus, or something else out of nowhere and smack. The gameplay however I believe is where this game does shine. Like for instance I would drive in NFSU2 down some streets at normal speeds in sixth gear like you would really drive the car in real life. It really improved the game.
It just doesn't feel real. One more thing. This game is a great arcade racing game. This game is well worth the money and despite some drawbacks I do reccomend it and hope they come out with a new one. It is challenging and rewarding. I have seen a lot of people however comparing it to NFSU2 and saying that it blows it away. I loved hearing that engine and the great sound effects.
You get passed race over. It controls like a classic car and doesn't have the speed it should. There are some races that took me quite some time to complete. I somewhat disagree. This bothered me because I couldn't cruise around at normal speeds with the manual transmission on. . I really emphasized on this because it bothered me the most.
However Midnight Club Dub Ed seemed to take their sound effects straight from the Grand Theft Auto series. They could have improved this a little but it is good enough where I wouldn't want it any better due to loading times. The details throughout the cities are nice touches. I mean the sounds aren't even remotely close to sounding real. Control of the vehicles is fine. This game dogs on some of the American cars again.
The only thing that bothers me is when you press the accelerator button it is full throttle or none. The only things this game had an advantage on NFSU2 was the licensed vehicles and mods you were able to make. In this game you either go full speed or are coasting. Sometimes you will just have to put the controller down and walk away before you start throwing things. The next thing is the graphics. This works fine in GTA but in a cusomizing racing game it is really a let down. Once again not as sharp as NFSU2 but still good enough to be enjoyable.
This game was great for me, but if you like SUVs, this is really not the game for you. This game is definitly the best, by far, racing game I have ever played. One major thing that I would change, is the music as I mentioned before. Note to players: When playing MC3, save your money. The cars are totally awesome (when pimped right) and there is a lot of selection, ranging all the way from Chevy to Mercedes. If I could have a say in what cars to include in the game, I would get rid of the Gembella, and replace it with a normal Porsche. It will help you greatly.
It is too annoying when playing for a long period of time. Hey, that's how I got my Mercedes CL500. And an even better reason to save money, is that you will get your car tricked out faster. The graphics are probably the best since NFSU2 and Forza Motorsport. The only thing that I don't really like about this game is the music. It gets stuck in your head after playing a lot. I would also add some SUVs such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and the BMW X5 4.8is.
Tons of cars, options, races, 3 whole cities, 98 songs on the soundtrack. Not only that, but the racing is fun also. Now, I haven't had the oppurtunity to play NFS: Most Wanted yet, so for now, this is by far the best racing game i have ever played. Everything on the outside of your car is customizable, with crazy cool parts to equip your ride with. Buy this game. I dont care if NFS: Most Wanted is better because at the $30 you have to pay for Midnight Club 3, you could probably buy both.
There is an unbelievable selection of parts to pimp out your car. Just insanely good. Just Buy this game.
