It is flexible, has two light settings and is pretty sturdy. I highly recommend this product. I read reviews on this prior to purchasing the item and heard nothing but great things. So I had to offer another positive review, because this book is ideal for a reader.
It is good and plenty bright. The flexible arm is a nice idea, but it isn't stiff enough and rotates or bends occasionally when you don't want it to. Those are two fairly huge flaws in an otherwise seemingly well-engineered product. Also, the clip isn't strong/sticky enough and slips around when you hold the book sideways. I really want to like this light.
My husband is rejoicing that I can read at night without having to keep him up with a light on. I've been searching and searching for the perfect book light. Definitely a good buy. This is it. It is bright enough to light both pages of my book and you can easily flip the pages without having to move the light at all.
Go with the old one. I own the original mighty brite light and much prefer it- this newer version, with 2 LEDs, is inferior. The light output is not as bright (unless the two we have are lemons) and the switch makes it far too easy to accidentally turn the light on while traveling, etc. The original light had a manual switch that was better at preventing this from happening. which kills your batteries.
The light is bright even using only one bulb so I can read without constantly moving the light. I can't speak to it's long term survival; but for now, I'm a happy customer. The clip is generous and the neck very flexible. This may not be it, but it comes pretty damn close. This is the first light of its type that I can clip to the headboard of my bed and it illuminates a whole page book that's lying next to my pillow (I like to read lying on my side). The battery use is negligible, I'm still using the factory issued bulbs after three weeks, so I don't have to fuss with a converter and cord. As a chronic insomniac, I've been on a long search for the perfect booklight.
