Monster Cable PGL400 CVAA-10 GameLink
Component video is the most advanced, highest quality connection available, because it transmits the picture from your PS2 to your TV in its purest form, through three separate cables. This avoids multiple stages of modulation. What you'll see is DVD movie picture quality and game graphics that are incredibly detailed, crisper and sharper, with the most vivid, rich color possible.Monster's advanced technologies outperform ordinary component video and audio cables. To maximize video strength and maintain precise 75-ohm impedance, nitrogen gas is injected into the dielectric insulator, creating uniform, microscopic cells. This allows the conductor to rest in the exact center of the cable, even when the cable is bent, for the sharpest picture possible. Monster's patented audio technologies maximize the full sonic performance of your PS2. DoubleHelix construction and Bandwidth Balanced multiple gauge wire networks combine to reject interference and deliver accurate reproduction of dialogue, sound effects, and music.Maximize your gaming and movie investment. If you're like most gamers, you'll spend hundreds of dollars on games and movies. So, get the very best picture and sound possible with Monster Game.

Monster Cable PGL400 CVAA-10 GameLink Reviews
I was using the stock PS2 cable, but could not use the progressive scan feature available in many PS2 games. scan (at least on my set), and the difference is big on a HDTV. Very high quality, and very long as well. Running your PS3 in component cleans up the picture, and being able to use the progressive scan makes it look even better. I have a PS3 and a HDTV, but I keep my PS2 active and included in my AV setup. Seems the composite connections won't support prog. These cables did the trick. If you use your PS2, get these before they disappear forever.
Have a ps2 with an lcd tv recently purchased, first thing I noticed was how crappy the ps2 looked with the new lcd, red the reviews for the monster component cable, it cost $30 with shipping included, I hooked it up to the playstation and was blown away at how much better the game looked, much better grafics and depth of color than the standard tv set I had, all I have to say is trust the customer reviews.
I'm very unpleased. Only to find out this is for PS2. I'm sure this is a high quality cable, but why was it listed for Gamecube. This cable comes up first in Amazon search results for "Gamecube Component Cable" amoungst other Gamecube video cables, so I ordered it.
With that said, if the price is right, you can't go wrong with this. I have a digital connection from my PS2 to my home theater, which does provide clearer sound than using this cable. Like I said, I bought this cable because it was priced competitively to the other quality products at the time I purchased. With this component cable, resolution is noticeably improved.
The difference between a "quality" cable from XYZ brand, however, and a "premium" cable from Monster, is all in the marketing. I think the cheap cables will mostly work, but there will probably be a slightly noticeable quality difference between the two. If it's dramatically more expensive than other cables that look identical, either wait or buy one that looks well made and has good reviews. I've noticed the price seems to swing wildly (as I'm writing this review, it's 50% higher than when I bought it). It is a worthwhile improvement. With the standard composite Playstation 2 cable, resolution is simply very poor.
When I purchased this cable it was priced competitively, meaning more than the really cheap cables but on par with the other quality cables. I purchased this version as it was actually less expensive at the time than the 3 cable component version (that version doesn't include analog sound, this version does). I have a Samsung 46" HDTV. But, if you don't have the capability for digital audio, this cable will still provide more than adequate sound. Wrapping rubber around a wire isn't exactly rocket science (the real rocket science is in building a brand name to convince someone to pay 50% more for a difference they can't even notice). Browse Amazon and you'll see what I mean: half the cables are very cheap (thin cable, flimsy looking connector) and the other half are "quality" (thicker cable, better quality connector).
I just bought this cable for my ps2 and my new LCD TV and the Quality change a LOT. I recomended 100%
