Monster Cable SS2RF Monster Standard RF Splitters For CATV Signals 2-Way RF Splitter Reviews

Provided NO better picture or reception than the typical 3 dollar splitter.and to top it off.the monster splitter failed after 3 months. It is a Taiwan product.and the monster cable brand does not offer any assurance of quality.

The Monster splitter does yield a good picture, in fact the picture looks as good as if the cable was connected directly to the TV rather then to the splitter. Many competing brands have the appearance of a cheap product that I hesitate to install on my TVs. So no visible video degradation as a result of using this splitter. I have settled on buying this unit because it certainly appears to be very well made which to me is an attraction in itself. Does the Monster SS2RF give you a better picture then other competing brands of RF splitters that I've used. To my naked eye, I really can't tell the difference. I've used RF splitters from several manufacturers and most have worked well.

The cable company supplied me with ONE 2 way 1GHZ "Regal Splitter" and ONE 3 way 1GHZ "Extreme" Splitter. My cable modem has yet to lose its connection and my downloads are faster. But if you are like me, and already have a decent picture, but with minor picture flaws, or lose you internet connection, try upgrading to these, as always Monster delivers, and their "Standard" products are all you need, even if its cables, they are more then sufficent When I changed the splitters, I found the picture to be more Crisp w better colors and Detailing, and the HD never looked better.

I have five different splits needed, four for TV, and one for internet, and even though my picture was pretty clear, my internet connection was getting lost sometimes, so I decided to upgrade my splitters. The Monster Standard 1GHZ is more then suffience for Digital Cable, Basic "Analog" Cable, Internet, and HD TV. If you are one of the "unlucky" that lives in an apartment or dont feel like shelling out the money to have a "DEDICATED" cable line running to each room (from the outside box) then a splitter will be neccassary. I decided to upgrade these to the 2 and 3 way Monster Standard 1GHZ splitter. Problem is the more you split, the more signal you lose, and this can degreade picture quality and internet speed.

(please stay away from the higher end, 2GHZ Monster Splitters, unless you have Satilite. Even if you have a dedicated line, you might want to use one for picture in picture. The simple call to the cable company (some charge a small fee) could be all you need. Mind you, if you are having lousy reception problems, and you have a cheap splitter, and you change to this, and it doesnt work, chances are its the outside line, so have that checked first, before you drop the money on splitters.

Suspicous, I researched this and boy was he telling the truth. Definitely worth the extra money when you consider how much you already have invested in your AV equipment. The SS2RF provided much better clarity and got rid of the distortion that I assumed was the fault of the cable provider. A Time Warner Tech told me that in order to get good reception from the lower and upper channels I needed a good quality splitter, not the cheap ones that you can get at Radio Shack (which I had used).

I swapped the old and new splitters around in various combinations, but found that the two Monster cables produced a slightly better signal when just one was used and a great signal when they were used in unison. The gold plating content is the same and its only the frequency range that is associated with satellite TV that would matter to you with the premium model. I purchased two Monster splitters to replace some RadioShack brand splitters I had on my home cable TV setup. The low channels are now perfectly clear. The splitters being replaced where not old, so it appears these Monster splitters made a difference. The premium model is about twice the price.

One splitter resides outside my house splitting the cable between two TVs and the other splitter is inside splitting my TV and DVD player inputs. I had replaced a few other components (cables) due to a less than perfect signal on the lower band stations (Channels 2 thru 6) and a couple of other stations on the higher end of the spectrum. The new splitters made a difference. Cable TV: buy the Monster standard. Unless you have a need (satellite TV) I would stick with the Monster standard splitter and not spend extra money on their "premium" splitter. So:.
