He stands up well. I have mine on top of the refrigerator as decoration. The light saber stays in his hand all the time. Very high quality.
Christmas morning came with so many laughs when he opened this gift. We bought this for my husbands uncle who is a huge Star Wars fan. He has every figurine, book, and collectable we could find until we saw this Darth Tater.
Given that he is 35, I wasn't worried about its educational value, just it whimsy quotient. Mr. Potato Head is a family favorite and this one is cute. I purchased this for my "Star Wars" loving son in law.
First, for Mr. Potato Head fans of all ages, and second, for Star Wars memorabilia collectors who don't take themselves or the subject of their mania too seriously. There are enough pieces for several amusing configurations; it's too bad the light saber doesn't light up, but I suppose nothing is perfect. (Wait a minute are there enough of those to actually constitute a group). While probably not for everybody, Darth Tater is a must-have for two special groups of people.
