It takes up too much space if you are keeping your camera in a purse, pc bag or other small area. Also not sure how much protection it would really provide. It may be made well, but it was not what I was looking for. This case is way too big for the camera. I went a bought the leather one.
I had gone to about 6 local stores first to try and find it, and then I tried Amazon.com,and there it was. However, after receiving it, I found that the case was almost too tight of a fit for the camera, and even though they give you a pouch in the case to store your extra battery and memory card in, they don't really fit with the camera in it, so I am carrying them separately. I was quite pleased to find the Nikon Fabric Case 5879 at Amazon.com. The Nikon website had recommended the 5879 for my 5100 camera. I find that to be a major disappointment.
I wouldn't trust this case for sports use like mountain biking. There are inside pockets for a spare battery and a spare memory card. However, the velcro closures and belt loop are not real sturdy. This case is a perfect fit for the new Nikon P6000 camera and you can't beat the $5 price. The leather case has less padding than the fabric case and only one interior pocket, so the leather case is sleeker and better looking.
I use my Nikon P50 for work and hang the case on my belt. It fits in the case nice and snug which sounds like a good thing, but it is difficult to get out.
It's too bad they didn't leave the grip exposed. It is a good looking case, seems to be well made and at a great price, so it is hard to knock.
I take the camera in and out of the case many times and it is a real pain. The camera slips deep into the case and it is hard to get your fingers around the camera to pull it out.
so it would be easy to grab and pull out. If you do not take the camera in and out of the case like I do, then its a pretty good case.
I have a Canon Powershot case that is much easier to use due to the low cut on the case exposing the grip.
Nice. I find this to be a perfect holder for the Nikon P-60. it is padded enough to protect the camera from moderate drops, large enough to hold 4 extra AA cells & an extra SD or SDHC card (in plastic protector) but is still not overly bulky.
