An excellent product. It is very quiet, gives the notebook a tilt for viewing the keyboard, and is powered from one of the notebooks USB ports with no apparent loading problems.
it matches my macbook pro nicely this thing works well to keep the temp of your laptop cooler. it has a usb port built in so you dont loose one. not sure what the utility of the adjustable fan speed is.i just run it full speed all the time. it feels very solid but not too heavy. going off the enclosure bottom temp as measured by istat, its about 10 degrees cooler.
Durable, sleek, high quality, and it raises/angles the notebook to just the right position for viewing and keyboard access. Yes, it is a bit pricier than other notebook coolers, but there are reasons for that. I also love the fan speed control, which can be increased for high-graphic usage or decreased for basic use (and virtually silent operation as described by other reviewers). It is very important that you seriously consider such a device to protect your laptop, as they will overheat and ultimately burn up their internal components. I am primarily creating this product review (something I rarely do) in order to support an amazingly excellent product.
Best of all is the construction. I love the fact that it has an extra USB port so that you can plug your USB hub into it (which used to be plugged into your laptop) and still enjoy the simplicity of one USB connection to plug in or pull out whenever you chose to go mobile. The Zalman Notebook Cooler actually lives up to all of the reviews and hype I have heard about it online. all without taking up any additional desktop space than the notebook itself might. The only disadvantages are that the price is pretty high compared to other notebook coolers (but well worth it for the reasons described, particularly the high quality materials/construction) and the fact that it is really only compatible with notebooks under 16" (ideally 15" -15.5").
It even has an on/off button with LED indicator. Using an AC adapter to run the laptop long term (like you would a desktop) or running graphically intensive video or games only accelerates the heat intensity that will kill your laptop as surely as it would your car's engine.
I'd say this is the BEST NOTEBOOK COOLER OUT IN THE MARKET.(at least it is for me)
I love this product compared to other plastic coolers that had noisy fans which did nothing to cool my laptop.
If you put your hand under the laptop, it actually cooled the bottom of the laptop, and you don't feel the heat.
With other plastic coolers(about 1/2 the price): ~110C.
The size is perfect for my HP 14 inch widescreen laptop, but it might be a bit small for the ones that are bigger.
AND, this cooler is super quietit will not bother you while you work on it.
This actually lowered my notebook temperature(I DO use my notebook EVERDAY at least for 5~10 hours per day), letting it endure the times that I spend on it.
Overall, I strongly recommend this product to anyone that's looking for a notebook cooler.

The cooler is powered by a USB connection. What some of the pictures fail to capture is how solid it is. The $50 you spend on this cooler might save you hundreds in repair costs. It keeps my laptop much cooler (the laptop's fan never kicks in, even when I'm doing something graphic intensive like watching a blueray or playing a computer game).
If your laptop runs hot, or if you do any photo or video editing, gaming, or watching higher resolution video, get yourself one. Made of aluminum, it is very rigged and just feels like it's quality. Don't worry, you don't lose any USB ports because the cooler has a free USB connection that you can plug a peripheral into if you're maxed out on USB ports.
The Zalman NC-1000 is a great laptop cooler. When considering the cost of the cooler, bear in mind that keeping your laptop cool will ultimately make it last longer, put less stress of the graphics card, motherboard, processor, and ram, meaning less likelihood of failures.
