Official Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training Reviews

The gun itself is wonderful. Much better than "Off Brand" I had purchased before, and this included a game that tests you skills at shooting. Very good indeed.

OK, so I originally got this to use with my husband's "007, Quantum of Solace" game and was slightly disapointed that it makes that particular game more difficult. HOWEVER, everyone in the house loves, loves, loves Link's crossbow training and I cannot imagine trying to play it without the Wii Zapper. Well worth the price just to get the game.

First off I thought that the design of the Official Wii Zapper would be a bit too short (length) to feel good while being used. This isn't the case, while it does take a bit to get use to, once one gets use to the design/feel it is rather comfortable in your hands. Unlike the Nyko Perfect Shot for Wii, the Wii Zapper biggest competition, this handles the Wii Nunchuk Controller - White perfectly and makes using the Wii Remote Controller and Nnchuck easy and comfortable.

The only issue with Wii Zapper is that it doesn't handle the Nyko Battery Kit for Charge Station for Wii with the rubber grip on. Removing the rubber grip/battery cover resolves the issue and while an inconvenience it isn't a big issue. For those who use the Jacket that comes with the Wii Remote will find that you will have to remove it before using the Wii Zapper. While another inconvenience for some; for others, including me, who don't use the Jacket this is a non issue.

Link's Crossbow is an excellent game, while there is no storyline, the 9 levels with three stages each make for an addictive game play. The graphics are well done and in combination with Official Wii Zapper the experience is is quite good.

Each level features three stages. The first stage is straight up target practice of still targets. The second is shooting moving targets from a fix location. The third state allows you to move link around an area shooting enemy targets who are shooting back. Those who like First Person Shooters (and other similar game categories) will especially like this third stage.

In short either product is worth the price tag, both together for the price is even better.

This Zapper is great!! The Link's Crossbow Training game that came with it is also so much fun to play. Gets you used to playing with it and I love the space for the nunchuk, very helpful!!

I bought this accessory at Gamestop when it came out. I had some fun with Link's Crossbow Training, but that only lasted about 10-20 minutes. The Zapper itself is nothing more than a chunk of plastic molded into the shape of a tommy-gun. I like how the Wiimote and Nunchuck actually fit in it, but it can be a bit of a chore getting it all put together the right way because you have to open it up and wrap the Nunchuck chord up in the back handle. I also noticed that the pointer on the screen doesn't seem to be in the right place when trying to aim (you have to aim up a little, which took getting used to). Not to mention the fact that there are only a few games that support this peripheral, so it probably won't get much use. Seeing as this is just a piece of plastic and you could play better without it, I don't suggest forking over $25 for it, even with the game included. If you really want a gun attachment, try the Nyko Powershot. At least that looks like a gun.
