ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills Reviews
All in all, very easy, and no monthly phone bill EVER AGAIN. Within about 20 minutes I was up and running. Really everything that you would expect from an old analog line OR from VOIP.
One of the coolest things about the ooma is the voicemail. Downsides. Ooma rocks.
She HATED Vonage (but not as much as I did).ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills Go to the ooma web site. MAYBE a couple.VOIP and 911 freaks some people out. You can pickup your voicemail like conventional VOIP, by calling in or by logging in (internet or email), BUT you can also pick up your message by clicking 'play' on the ooma hub or ooma scout, You can also screen calls just like the good old days on a conventional answering machine. After first paying too much for Qwest, then getting HORRIBLE hardware, software and service from Vonage for two years, I gave ooma a try, and now my local and national long distance is FREE. Amazon held up their end of the deal as usual: No fuss, no drama. Even my wife, a Luddite in technophobes clothing, loves it.
Cool packaging, excellent technical documentation (Quick start guide and User Guide) and most importantly SUPER easy to set up and use. I had neven heard of ooma before searching for VOIP at Amazon.com. It ain't no thing for receiving calls, since I just had my old Vonage number forwarded to my new ooma number. It works like the best of POTS (plain old telephone service) and VOIP. Even though I didn't automatically get the discount that was offered, it took only an email to solve, and a credit instantly appeared on my bank card.
I think that will get fixed. If I hade one nit to pick, it would be that you have to dial '1' to call long distance. You get a temporary number while your number is ported, and it's nicer if it's your real area code so you don't have to dial 1-AREA CODE- then the number. . There is a good little video that explains better than I ever could.
Anyway, the OOBE was excellent. There are a lot more good things: number porting, additional phone numbers, your choice of area codes, caller ID, etc. After reading the reviews at Amazon, then hitting the ooma website, I placed an order for the ooma "core system" (a hub and a scout) and an addtional Scout. Also, there are not as many area codes "reserved" as you would think. Maybe I should be more worried than I am. I'm very happy with ooma.
Set up was very easy and quick. Excellent voice quality. I recommend this product to anyone.
Five years ago, I switch to Vonage, paying $15/month for 500 minutes. It's now almost $19/month. No more phone bills. It's rare in the electronic world to have a device work completely as advertised and does so in such an elegant way. I plan to say Bon Voyage to Vonage after this month. It took less than 10 minutes to setup this device and start making calls. Great sound quality.
and we got it up and running in no time. I like this phone system very much, set up was not too bad, my husband had problem set it up so he called in and was helped through the whole thing. sound is clear, just like our regular phone. so it is a good product.
It works great. I highly recommend it. I hooked a three handset Panasonic cordless phone with it. I finally bought ooma after reading the reviews online. The voice quality is excellent. The setup is very easy. This is a too good to be true offer - unlimited US calling with no monthly fees.
