Perfect for a garden, greenhouse, wine cellar, or baby's room, this remote, wireless sensor--designed as an add-on for use with any Oregon Scientific cable-free monitor--displays the indoor or outdoor temperature where it's located and also radios the temperature to the monitor, which is not included. The sensor can be placed up to 90 feet away from the monitor, and the channel it uses can be selected from among three options, permitting this sensor to be used with two others by the same monitor. It displays temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, with a range of minus-4 to 140 degrees F. It operates on two AA batteries (which are not included), has a low-battery indicator, measures 4-1/8 by 2-3/4 inches, and can be set on a flat surface with a stand or mounted on a wall (stand and wall mount are included). --Fred Brack

Oregon Scientific Cable Free Remote Sensor with Multi-Channels THR138 - 1 ea Reviews
I can understand old units not talking to new sensors but there is NO excuse for new units not talking to old sensors. That'll do it for me - I have two units that I've been very happy with and was going to add one of those fancy weather stations - until I read that NONE of my sensors will work with it. That's just orgeon scientific trying to make us buy new sensors. I'm sorry but that's just completely unacceptable. Just lost a customer. No way.
I love being able to see the temperature outside when I wake up every morning.
There's one interior brick wall with an open door in between the two units. I give it 2 stars only because I like the large digital readout. This is simply a poorly perfroming product as I had another brand of indoor/outdoor thermometer set up identically and there was no such problem. The indoor unit is unable to pick up the signal from the outdoor unit. I'm returning this product. Beware of the 90 ft range claim. I put the outdoor unit in a window between the glass and the screen and about 25 feet away from the indoor unit, one room away.
I have mounted the sensor underneath my RV and the base station receives the signal anywhere in the RV. I bought this sensor to replace the original that was lost. It works well, the indications of temperature and humidity are the same (within one degree and 3% respectively) as the indications of the base station when they are in close proximity.
I bought this unit to replace a failing THR-128.The unit in only 0.2 degrees different form the main unit. The sending range is adequate.I tried it in the back bedroom and side by side with my old outdoor unit.I have no complaints.
