The controls for this game don't work well and you can't save the game when you want to, which creates a lot of problems when you're playing it. So don't buy it, please.
This game is a great looking and great playing racing title for anyone who enjoys arcade games. It's all Ferrari cars for those who care (I don't mind at all).
THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY FAN OF FERRARIS. THE ONLY THING I REALLY THINK IS LACKING WOULD BE MORE CARS AND/OR UNLOCKABLES, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL TO DRIVE AN OLD FERRARI INDY CAR OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, BUT OVERALL, I WAS MORE THAN SATISFIED WITH THIS TITLE, EVEN THE XBOX LIVE IS KINDA FUN, ALTHOUGH GETTING SMOKED THROUGHOUT A WHOLE RACE IS KINDA LENGTHY. I BOUGHT IT AS SOON AS IT CAME OUT, AND IT IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST STRAIGHTFORWARD RACERS OUT THERE. ANYWAY, IF YOURE A FERRARI AFICIONADO, OR EVEN A CAR GUY AT ALL, YOU SHOULD BUY THIS. YOU CAN PLAY RACING GAMES ALL DAY, BUT NOTHING BEATS THE ORIGINAL OUTRUN, AND THIS IS JUST THAT, WITH ALL THE NEW & OLD FERRARIS, (WELL NOT ALL OF THEM, BUT THE MOST POPULAR OF COURSE).
If this was you too, stop reading right now, don't waste time being ashamed for not already owning this game, and go buy it. If you just like to play and enjoy, get OutRun 2. I guarantee OutRun 2 will keep your attention long enough to more than pay for itself. With original arcade mode, heart attack mode, missions, time trials, features to unlock and the awesome music there's plenty to do here. This game is an excellent follow-up to the best arcade racing game of all time. If you're a realist you won't like the physics-busting crashes and this game is probably not for you. I'm one of those people who pumped their child-life's savings in to various OutRun arcade machines.
I love classic games and bringing them back to the mainstrem of technology- it makes me very happy. Even better you can take this baby on XBOX Live and duke it out with 8 other racers. How many quarters did people spend to play this game. I don't know, but it makes me sick to think about it. It's a race to get to the checkpoint, nothing more, you and the clock. Don't worry about this game looking nostalgic, it's a very good looking racer and is every bit as good as Burnout 3 and Rallisport Challenge 2 which are considered tops in the graphics department for racers.
Although the arcade mode is a bit limited, as you can finish one race in about 10 minutes, and that's it. Outrun was one of Sega's biggest games in the 80's. Outrun was certainly way before its time and was one of the greatest driving games ever in its hay day. But the fun is within the mission mode that gives you more variety and the ability to open new prizes.
You can knock over cones, race against other drivers, perfect the powerslide and earn new cars and a even a few new modes. It's defintely the immortal feeling of the General Lee, these Ferrari's can do it all. Need a good no-brainer racer. Look no further.
Outrun 2 keeps the feeling and faith of the original by giving us the same crazy arcade gameplay with the classic music. The gameplay is nutty, you can drift and powerslide on a corner like there is no tomorrow. The arcade mode takes after the original and the likes of the classic Pole Position.
