Go figure. We all love OXO, their products are great, affordable and reliable. Bought these for my parents last Christmas and they love them. But OXO was really great and shipped her out a new knife right away. My mom said the only problem she ran into was when she tried to cut a frozen pizza, a knife broke. Almost a year later they are still sharp and work great.
Hands down, the OXO is the best set of kitchen knives I have ever owned. I live in Japan, and own a set of Japanese knives, which are very high maintenance. That should say it all. The OXO set are just as good as my Japanese knives, but they do not require any maintenance other than the occasional sharpening. After getting the OXO set, I have since retired my Japanese knives.
You will not be dissapointed. Gotta be the BEST $80 set of knives I have ever seen or used. JUST GO BUY A SET.
They have a nice feel, wash easily and really do the job. The block is goo also. Well crafted, well balanced and razor sharp. Excellent value. Be careful; I gave myself a very nasty cut with the paring knife while peeling veggies just because I didn't expect them to be so sharp. Having done lots of in-store and online research this is definitely the best value out there.
I've never held such a comfortable knife, and that goes for all of them. I got this set last year for Christmas and I love it. If you are looking for a knife set, I highly recommend this one. I shopped around for a knife set before settling on this one and I love it. Also, they are of great quality.
