I found this on amazon for 2 cents. It came in a plastic package like the cheap cell phone covers you see in booths at the mall. I didnt believe it but I got it and it works. But suprisingly for about 2.30 total with shipping cost it was more than worth it.
I've tried non-Palm chargers before and this is my latest lost gamble. I suspect that the contacts were distorted or bent out of place over continual attachment and detachment. It cost me quite a bit, but if it works as reliably as the wall charger that came with the TX, I won't have to worry anymore. I figured that it wasn't too much to gamble on an off-brand item. I've ordered another directly from Palm, now. (I use my TX in the car and in the office). I bought this charger for $0.01 plus the requisite $3+ s&h. After a month it stopped working 100% of the time, and as of earlier this week it quit working altogether.
I don't know how it got into my arena of products to review, other than I own a Palm Tx and I think it( the Palm Tx),is the coolest thing going. I watch movies on my small palm Tx, I keep up to date with important calender dates, I read novels on this thing, I read tech journals (pdf's as well)And I can Surf the net ( via wi-fi or bluetooth connection). To be honest, I don't own this product.YET. But I really should. I do all this and when the battery drains out and I'm in my car I will plug my Tx into the "Car charger adapter" that I probibly will purchase at some future date.
The plug into the Palm is secure (it doesn't wiggle loose), and it does its job just the way it is supposed to. A pretty simple, but necessary device if you find yourself away from your laptop or wall charger for long periods of time.
1 You get what you pay for. If you don't insert it carefully it might actually damage your palm tx charging port. 2 The connector pin (one that connects palm tx) is not a perfect fit. It looks and feels cheap. 3 Bottom line. It works and given the car charger from palm (and other manufacturers) is ridiculously expensive this is a decent buy for any one on a budget.
