Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone - Dual Handset System (KX-TG6312S) Reviews
Great features on a very sound phone system. Battery life is great, only goes dead after a week of being hidden under something. Very important, more than one handset can talk at once. Shared phone book, single button press to type in voice mail code and password. Have used over a year with not a single glitch.
I moved in with my niece and family and they live in a large single home. The one problem with the phones was that there were only 2 phone lines in the house. I purchased the initial unit with the one additional handset, I hooked them up in the living room (base), my bedroom and one of the boy's rooms. I soon realized I needed one more for a total of 4 (the other boy needed a phone too). The phone jack in the kitchen has been acting up and to get someone out to repair it and rip up the wall was not an option we were looking forward to. I ordered two more handsets (for a total of six). Plugged one in the kitchen and one in the basement. ALL of them work great. No problems. If I ever have to purchase phones for a house again - this is the way I will go.
This Panasonic product is a good, basic cordless phone. It is lightweight and easy to use. Sound quality - voices are clear with just an ocassional echo. There are 2 things I don't like about this phone, when you answer it there is a delay in the other party hearing you say hello, so you either have pause before saying anything or say hello twice. Second, the light that signals you have a message is very small, so you may not notice it flashing.
So far I really like this phone. Good sound, not unpleasant ring tone, and as advertised, no interference with wireless.
However- and this is a big however - don't be fooled by the fact that they recommend a headset as an accessory to the phone. THIS PHONE HAS NO HEADSET JACK!!!
I've been a Panasonic user for many years, so when it was time to pick a dual handset phone (nice and simple, no answering machine required) I thought this one was a no-brainer. Even after I read a review saying that this model no longer came with belt clips, which was disappointing because I really made use of those to hook the phone onto my clothes while talking on the headset, I still thought it was a good deal and I bought the phone. Little did I realize that the phone also doesn't have a headset jack, which the belt clip reviewer failed to mention! Totally disappointing! I would have returned the phones immediately, except that my husband kindly agreed to switch his home office phones with mine since he doesn't use headsets. But really - what kind of modern cordless phone doesn't have a headset jack??
