Panasonic DMR-EZ47V Up-Converting 1080p DVD-Recorder/VCR Combo with Built In Tuner

The DMR-EZ47 offers high image quality in both recording and playback, easy operation, and improved networking capabilities. It comes equipped with the HDMI terminal, which allows easy, single-cable connection to compatible equipment. The DMR-EZ47 also offers Panasonic's proprietary VIERA Link functions for linked operation of other AV devices, and these functions are now even more convenient. It is now possible to control an optional DIGA recorder, when connected to a Panasonic VIERA TV, using VIERA's remote control unit. This provides convenient control over frequently used functions by using only VIERA's remote. By pressing the VIERA Link button on the remote, a DIGA menu screen can be accessed directly from the VIERA Link menu screen, to make recording settings or play a DVD. By combining intelligent i/p Conversion and 1080p Up-Conversion technologies, DIGA's 1080p technology renders high-resolution 1080p images from DVD movies and TV broadcasts to compatible TVs. The Accutune high-precision analog/digital tuner achieves stable signal reception even under poor signal conditions, such as when signals are reflected by surrounding buildings. The Accutune Digital Tuner is a high-performance hybrid tuner capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. It uses a signal processor to effectively control noise and distortion, and its proprietary matching circuits allow it to transform and separate digital broadcasts into the appropriate digital or analog signals. With the built-in Digital Tuner, this will also allow you to record one digital broadcast program while watching a second program. The Tape input signal is automatically detected and optimized using Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) to provide an easy way to even more beautiful digital recordings from VHS tapes. Super Multi-Format Recording & Playback Digital Broadcast Capable - Built-in ATSC Tuner Automatic Program Information Acquisition Long Time

Panasonic DMR-EZ47V Up-Converting 1080p DVD-Recorder/VCR Combo with Built In Tuner Reviews

Still under warranty but have to take it 261 miles away for warranty work. Somewhat difficult to setup machine; now does not work, shows U99 on display and is frozen, only turns on and off and displays U99.

I have had this machine for 9 months and it has been okay. It is grainy to say the least downgrades to 480P for recording.sucks.

It does not record in HD to DVD from a cable box. Cost of mailing is ridiculous.

This thing is going in the trash. Plays DVD's in very good quality.

Power down and back up=U99.

The unit was not perfect, but worked fine for my needs. Specifically looking for a VCR/DVD combo which allows recording on both discs and vhs tapes and has a digital tuner. Took a bit to get the hang of and had a few initial questions/problems which cust. I haven't seen many with glowing reviews. Now need to start from scratch researching other products. ho hum.

Tried everything possible to reset it. There is a one year warranty, but since mine ran out, customer service suggested to send it for repair which could cost over $100. I will do that in the future. When the power came back, the unit was not funtioning properly.

I purchased this unit August 2007. bet. Informed that unit should be plugged into a surge protector as opposed to a wall outlet. There weren't many on the market then, and the cost was approx.

$250-$300. I recently lost power for 11 hours due to a storm. service helped with. Very disappointed.

Now the DVD tray is stuck shut with a dvd inside it. It did a pretty good job recording and playing DVDs, but it was sensitive to locking up with anything recorded on another machine and with any scratch. We've had this DVD/VCR combo for a little over a year. Overall, I think it had potential - Panasonic just needed to get the bugs worked out.

Over all it is a nice unit. This unit is nice, and works well.

The only issue I have had for it is that certain DVD's images tile and scramble on this unit that work just fine on other DVD players (including a computer). The SD slot is nice also.

I don't know what is going on there but it only happens to a very small number of my DVD's. I haven't used the HD aspects or the VHS-DVD copying features, but what I do have used is nice.

The method of switching between the SD, DVD and VCR inputs is very intuitive. And I do suggest it for those who are in need of a nice DVD-VHS combo.

The unit receives basic cable very well and the picture is improved over the TV (which is almost 5 years old now) connection on its own. The VCR works great and it records TV very well.

It gave me a lots of trouble. My other units on the shelves are not gets hot like this. The units gets hot within 4-5 hours of operations. I will not buy any more Panasonic product again. First of all it freezes most of the times. The unit still gets hot within 4-5 hours operations.

I have called the Panasonic for the broken piece issue. When they returned the DVD player to me, the cover on the top of the one touch dubbing button is broken. I have to unplag the power cord to reduce the temparature. I am not sure if I can get the replacement or refunds. I have sent it to the Panasonic repair ( Elk Grove Village,IL) and they says the unit is fine. I have the Panasonic DMR-EZ47V for almost 8 months.
