The Panasonic KX-TG8232B DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System with Two Handsets uses the latest DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology for outstanding range and clarity. It operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency for less interference from household items such as wireless networks, keyboards, and microwaves, and is less susceptible to eavesdropping. Two handsets are included and up to four additional handsets can be used with the base unit without any need for wires or setup. An all-digital answering system is built into the base and features flash memory that holds 16 minutes of recording time. The phonebook can hold 50 entries and the Caller ID can be linked to the phonebook so that a certain color gets flashed depending on who is calling. Call-waiting Caller ID shows you the name and number of an incoming call even while you are already on a call. Digital duplex speakerphones are built into the back of both handsets for clear hands-free conversations.

Panasonic KX-TG8232B DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System with 2 Handsets (Black) Reviews
I have used Uniden 2.4GHz phone for years. This Panasonic is better in most aspects except the speaker phone, which has a little bit too much echo that makes it sometimes hard to understand what the other side is saying, and has to go back to non-speaker phone.
The only downside is the contacts are stored in the handset. I absolutely love it, works great and very easy to use. This phone is great. In addition it is expandable if need be, and its a very nice classy looking phone. It is a duplication of effort and very annoying. Cell phone reception at my house is terrible. So I signed up for Vonage and purchased this phone. I wish they were stored in a central base station so you didn't have to enter them in each handset.
I'm sending it back.I ordered a vtech.they have their problems too ( all these phones seem to have some problems ) but at least the basic stuff works. When a call comes in the ringer will sometimes just keep ringing one continuous ring. Sometimes the phone will make an odd noise and disconnect.and I'm 5 feet from the base. Range was it biggest failure. I put the base exactly where I've had several other cordless phones over the years and many times this phone loses the base from a bedroom, backyard.20 feet away.two walls, sometimes just one, it gets no signal. This phone has a number of failures. I can hear the other phone ringing. Sometimes the phone won't ring at all.
The speaker phone option is great if you're in the middle of cooking/cleaning. We're using it with Vonage and could not be happier. Sounds great, looks awesome, and is light as a feather. It was a great buy.
Phone works perfectly. Completely cordless 2nd phone. Simple with lots of features. Only problem is it is bright when in dock and cannot (I don't think) turn off the screen.
