Panasonic KX-TG9348T DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - 2 Handsets Plus 1 Drop & Splash Resistant Handset Reviews

This phone is a really good phone; easy to set up. Especially like the oral name announcement of who is calling. Only wish the number of calls I have missed on answering machine was visible on actual machine...........

This three phone combination replaced an 2.4Ghz panasonic system that I had. I had no problem setting up the phone, I like the announcement of CallerID (which is editable) and the ability to turn off a phone during a set period of time. One of the problems that I had with the old phone, which I appear to still have with the new phone is that my wife manages to press some number on the phone while we are talking. I realize that it's user error, but it's something to watch out for.. as a sidenote, I bought the Headset to go with the phone to ensure no buttons were getting hit and the headset works fine - now if I can get my wife to use it.. another story.

So far so good. Got a great deal as factory refurbish. Pay attention to how this will interface with your current service though. It was tricky figuring it out but then seems to be working fine. Like the inclusion of the drop & splash handset for outdoor use. Don't like it won't work when power goes out, so keep a land line.

Replaced an older Siemens Gigaset phone system that my 2 year old smashed. Set up was simple, menus are intuitive & well documented (if you need additional explanation). Handsets have a good feel, and the sound of both speakerphone & conventional speakers is very good.

Many options to configure the system how you prefer. I chose the set with the drop & splash resistant handset (remember the two year old), which I prefer over the standard handset.

Minor niggles with the phones:
1. Picking up the recorded messages should be a button on the panel, it is a menu function (thankfully the first selection so it's no big deal).
2. Color code the start call & end call buttons, my failing eyesight would appreciate it.
3. Allow identification of the handsets other than a simple number. The Siemens allowed you to name the handsets, kitchen, bedroom etc. Useful for the intercom feature. Frankly our house is small enough that a good holler is all that's needed.

Summary: great phones, sound is crystal clear, absolutely no interference with microwave or WiFi (Siemens would hang up occasionally particularly near a running microwave oven - make you wonder what's happening to your brain while watching the popcorn??).
Excellent value, approx $30 per phone with answering machine, can't beat that. Panasonic quality should ensure a long life (still use my Technics stereo from the late 1970's)

Buy with confidence.

Features that we like:
1. Remote handsets do not require telephone cord - work wirelessly with base station.
2. Caller ID announced by each phone - unnecessary to get phone to see who is calling.
3. Caller block - easy to block unwanted calls.
4. Easy to enter phone numbers - single telephone directory available to all handsets.
Sound is great on all handsets.
