Panasonic KXTM100B 15 Minute All Digital Answering Machine

Kiss the poor recording quality and constant forwarding and rewinding of tape-based answering machines goodbye. The Panasonic KX-TM100B digital answering system records all messages digitally and provides quiet, effortless operation. LCD readout shows the number of messages received and each gets labeled with a time/day stamp. Tone remote control lets you change your greeting from another phone. And with the toll saver feature, it picks up on the first ring only if there are new messages waiting for you.

The Panasonic KXTM100B is an all-digital answering machine with 15 minutes of recording time. It uses a microchip to handle messages for quiet, easy operation. It incorporates advanced microchip technology for improved voice recording quality over previous models. It also includes a toll-saver function for when you're checking messages from a remote location--the system will answer on the first ring only if you have new messages. If not, you can hang up and avoid toll charges. Tone remote control lets you control the greeting message, all-message playback, and individual erase using a touch-tone phone.

Panasonic KXTM100B 15 Minute All Digital Answering Machine Reviews

I keep seeking an answer machine with first rate sound quality. This one is not it.

I bought this machine a year ago and have had no problems with it. It has functioned well and done everything that I expected from an inexpensive answering machine.

Bad: won't retain time/date after power failure and cannot be reset remotely, poor sound quality. Good: small, easy to set up, nice features.

That said, the unit is, in every other respect, at the very least adequate, and in most ways excellent and easy to use. We live in rural Virginia, and the power fails fairly frequently at some times of the year due to ice storms, wind-blown tree limbs, etc. It has proven to be superior to every answering machine we have previously owned in a very important respect: it still works as well as it did when we first installed it. It is adequate in every respect but one, which is only of interest to rural users: it does not have a battery backup for the time and date settings. Bottom line: knowing what we know, we'd buy it again.

When this happens, the KXTM100B preserves our greeting and our messages, but we have to reset the time and day of the week. We have owned this machine for a couple of years now. Until we do that (it is very easy to do), the unit does not record these with new incoming messages. We have not had any of the negative experiences reported by others here.

All I can say is that I am quite pleased with the unit. Incoming messages are as good as the incoming call. The sound quality appears quite good, but not perfect.

I find them well labeled and easy to use. As you can see in the picture, the "New Message" button, used to play new messages, is in fact the largest button on the unit. Even the small buttons are well separated to make them easily accessed.

I recently recieved and installed this answering machine for home business use. Hmmm. The connection and use of the machine is intuitive, and I am confused by earlier reviewers who complained of small buttons.

Calls from a cell phone with a poor connection, obviously, are not very good. My outgoing message is very clear, but has a bit of the "digital" feel to it.
