I have dropped, and battered it and used it in some dusty places, and carelessly shot it with a garden hose and it keeps on working. The only negative part is that it is a wee bit hard to tune in. I use it any where from 2 to 6 hours each day, and the batteries last a long time. It did come with an AC power cord to use when the batteries are down. Using the rechargeable type I only recharge about every 2 weeks. Oh yeah, it has a no nonsense, easy to grab handle on it and it has the look of something out of the 60s era cool. I use this radio almost daily, and really love it. However, it does not drift off the frequency once it is set so I can put up with that.
The 99.95 price has to be a typo, but it still comes up the same in the shopping cart, so I guess I'll have to buy it somewhere else. Purchased this radio last September to listen to Yankee games when working in the garage. HOWEVER; I was going to purchase another one for my work site, but at today's price of $99.99 I figure it will be cheaper to just pay John Sterling to come by at work and give me a personal play-by play. Still using the original batteries after hours of post-season baseball. Great buy for what I was after. Panasonic RF-2400 AM / FM Radio. Decent quality and good reception, but not to expensive to worry about it getting scratched or dropped.
Do not pay that price. 3.25*** The design is the best thing about the radio in my opinion. This is a nice looking radio with ok sound and average reception but to even offer for $100 makes my blood boil. Its just a little portable radio and nothing more. Look around if you must have it but please dont pay more than $25 for it. You should get at least 4 radios for $100.
This radio has been a wonderful bathroom accessory for 8 months. I usually listen to one AM and one FM station, and I put a little pencil mark on the face by each number for easy tuning reference. It sounds good, and the batteries last a long time. I highly recommend it.
I bought this radio for an elderly person, and it was just what she needed - a simple AM/FM radio with large knobs - no CD or tape player - just a radio that she could work. It is an excellent product for the elderly.
