Philips CD4450B High Def Voice Cordless Phone Handset for CD440 & CD445 Series Reviews
Update 10/29/2008. But then the phone is just ok. Sorry, I am not going to buy any Philips products in the future. I am looking to buy a Panasonic DECT phone now. Every once in a while, the phone goes "searching" a few feet away from the base. Let me first say, that in the one year that I've been using the phone I have not had any issues with call quality or range. Overall, this seems like not a poorly engineered but un-engineered product meaning no one seems to have paid attention to features and functions.
The user interface is not very intuitive and I would call it very mediocre. The Philips Skype phone I bought also has the same mediocre quality and is infact very unreliable. The Philips goes to junk. Simple features like phonebook sharing are missing. Battery life is also just ok, not great. Over the past few days, the product constantly keeps going to "searching" and drops calls.
We have only had them a few weeks - they barely hold a charge, and frequently disconnect. We bought a set of two phones. They are awful. Do not buy them.
If I had kept the boxes , I would return this Item. This is a very cheap quality and menu of a wireless phone ans system. The Intercom is a Joke. Oh well, One loss for me, One win for Philips and Amizon.
It's going back tomorrow. I haven't been able to get this handset to register to the base despite several e-mails to Phillips and one aggravating phone call that took 15 minutes to tell me they didnt handle this product at the number I called.
I also found it very easy to transfer my existing phonebook on my base handset to the new handset. I just purchased this extra handset for a base phone I previously purchased and reviewed: Philips CD 4401 High DefVoice Cordless Speaker Phone. Again, smart features, simple design, good quality.
I like that if my caller ID list is checked on one handset, the indicator light for both handsets shut off. In a nutshell, I like this series because it has a lot of options that, if you take the time to read the instructions, will make your life easier. It was very easy to register this new handset to my existing base after I read the instructions more carefully.
Moreover, it doesn't have unnecessary options (like an answering machine) that I do not need. (I had assumed I could figure it out without reading them. I love these phones.
My bad). (See my review for the base phone for more details).
