Philips DCP750/37 7" Portable DVD Player with iPod docking Reviews
a little light "leaks" out. It does run a little hot sometimes, and the screen is so bright that even with the lid closed (it plays with the lid closed). This is a great little player (although the IPod functionality works only for a limited set of IPods; mine is the 30G video Ipod and works great). I listen to it at night to help me sleep.
The screen swivels and can be watched facing UP a la tablet-PC. It has good sound and video, can be played through a regular tv with the supplied A/V cord, and the remote stores in a specially-sized "hole" in the right-hand side (this is where you would place your Ipod to play it). Places which sometimes have them in stock are Walmart, Radio Shack, and JandR.com, to name a few. However, do not pay 249$ for it.
This listed for around 150$ new.
The color on mine was washed out. Video does not work with fourth gen Nano. Brightess control does not help.
Great buy. We bought this dvd player based on previous consumer reviews and love it. It is durable and simple to use. The volume is great. We've had no problem with IPod compatibility.
No USB port. It would have been more convenient if it had a USB port, but it works quite well from the SD card. We bought this viewer primarily because we wanted something to watch whilst on the elliptical trainer. SD slot. nice screen. Does not accept SDHC. In summary. iPod Touch does not fit in iPod port
We chose this one because it is able to play Divx files stored on SD cards in addition to DVDs. Cons:. Pros:.
It's unfortunate, because all of the newer, larger cards will be SDHC, so stock up while you can. Good volume. If you do intend to play digital files using the SD slot, do note that it will NOT play SDHC (high capacity) cards.
We were able to find a couple of 4gb non-HC cards, but they are somewhat rare. We purchased this player for $129. The screen is clear and bright, and the DVD player functions perfectly without skipping even when strapped to our rocky elliptical trainer.
Plays Divx files.
A couple of years ago the price was 219.The price should have gone down. What gives.
