Only minor and mean minor drawback is the limited choice of ring tones. I use Skype and have no problems with the chimes others have had using other VOIP services. This phone is basically a coupled handset and answering system base station. Comes with a built-in SIMM card reader for transferring of phone numbers.
Sound quality is excellent. A USB interface would give this a rating of 5 stars. There are more features available than can be described here, but the machine can be put into use for messages within a few minutes. The quality of manufacture is among the very best I have used. The handset is sync'd to the base for messages or voice memos.

I use two base stations which come with a handset and 3 additional stand alone handsets. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
I researched phones for quite a while before choosing these. I have bought and thrown away a lot of different types and styles of phones. Clear and easy to understand voice communication.

I have vonage and it goes very well with that. I had this phone for an year now and it is very good for IP based phone services. Backed up by philips reliable service. The only thing I don't like in this phone is it's weight. I like the speakerphone of this unit as it is vry loud and clear for the whole family to participate in the conversation.
I recommed this anyone looking for a phone. The display is really very clear for a handset. A phone is to speak, voice clarity is awesome. It's a bit bulky, but you can always place it on a table and use spearphone. You can just read all entries from mobile simcard at one shot.
The speaker phone has good fidelity and is not echoey. I like the size, and the way it fits in my hand. However, this phone has the absolute worst selection of ring tones I think I have ever encountered. The only one that even resembles a "normal" ring has no pause between bleeps so it's a sort of continuous wailing that's totally obnoxious. I really like the features of this phone, namely its ability to copy the contents of our sim cards so virtually all of our contacts are programmed instantly into the phone.
